Hi Mark, I believe it is the great glory of the Lord as He and His angelic army come from heaven to earth. The prophet Zechariah describes this event. `It shall come to pass in that day that there will be no light; that the lights will diminish. It shall be one day which is known to the Lord - neither day nor night. But at evening time it shall happen that it will be light.` (Zech. 14: 6 & 7) Everyone on earth will be in that semi darkness and then it will become very bright, at evening, (Israeli time). `....whom the Lord will consume ......with the brightness of His coming.` (2 Thess. 2: 8) `And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet...` (Zech. 14: 12) So not only a very bright light (of glory) but a burning fire with the intensity of a nuclear bomb. If Matthew 24:29-30 corresponds to the sixth seal, and I think that it does, then the sign of the Son of Man is this: And they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” Revelation 6:16-17 The sign of the Son of Man is seen at the sixth seal when the sky is rolled back and people get a glimpse of the throne room where the Lamb is.
