Isaiah 1:9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

Paul cited this verse in Romans 9:29.

This verse is speaking of the remnant of Israel. The remnant that was of faith.

In Romans 9:24 and Romans 9:30 Paul is speaking of the Gentiles who also by faith are included in the remnant of Israel.

Yes, that is absolutely right. The early church saw themselves as Jews, too.

The Gentiles spoken of in the remnant are not in the church in this dispensation, the body of Christ, they were grafted into the remnant of Israel as seen in Romans 11, but were not considered as Jews....in fact, in Acts 15 they were not put under the law.

Spiritually they are Jews in God's eyes the minute they receive Jesus. He does not see any distinction, even though the people still did.

Would you provide a scripture passage to uphold this?

The Apostle Paul shows us in Romans 11:17, that the Gentile “wild olive tree” has been grafted into the good olive tree (verse 24). The natural branches (the Jews) have been cut off because of their rejection of Jesus as their Messiah, (Romans 11:20), but they can be grafted in again (Romans 11:23).
In Colossians 3:11, 12, Paul says that those who have put on the new man are - "neither Greek nor Jew....but Christ is all and in all. Put on therefore as the elect of God..." - the divine nature. And the Apostle Paul, who was called to minister to the Gentiles, endured - all things for the elect’s sake (II Timothy 2:10). Therefore Gentiles who have obeyed the Gospel are viewed as the "elect," ( a term usually taken to mean the Jews by some scholars). Also - "Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ..." (I Peter 1:2). Here the Apostle Peter has told us how we become the elect. - For you are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 4:26).
For He is our peace, who has made both one…(Ephesians 3:14) – For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God (Ephesians 3:18, 19). There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus. GET THIS – And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise (Galatians 3:26, 28, 29). Know you therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham (Galatians 3:7); Daniel’s people (Daniel 10:14), all those whose names have been written in the book (Daniel 12:1) – the Lamb’s book of Life
Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations) (Romans 4:16, 17).
God "put no difference" between the Jew and Gentile because all  are purified by faith (Acts 15:9).

We are still Gentiles by race, but seen as Jews. What makes a Jew a true Jew is His separation to God and now that can only be done by  faith in the Messiah Jesus. This is why Revelation 3:9 refers to the Jews "who say they are Jews and are not."   God does not see them as Jews, separated to Him because they have rejected the Messiah.

The Gentiles grafted in are not the Gentiles in the body of Christ.....these Gentiles were those in the remnant of Israel who believed the gospel of the kingdom.

Romans 9 through 11 is about Israel, not the church, the body of Christ.
Romans 9:24 Not only the Jews believed the gospel of the kingdom, and the preaching of Jesus and the twelve, but also Gentiles (Acts 10:45). This was not our gospel of grace. They only believed on the name of Jesus (John 3:18 John 20:31).
Romans 9:27 This is identifying the remnant of Israel as what Paul is talking about. The remnant is the believing Jews and Gentiles who will enter the promised kingdom on earth (Isaiah 2:2-3 Exodus 19:5-6).
Romans 9:30 Those Gentiles had faith, which Israel rejected.
Romans 11:5 At the time Paul was writing, the remnant of Israel, Jew and Gentile, were participants in the church.
Romans 11:11 The believing Gentiles would provoke unbelieving Israel to jealousy.
Romans 11:13 Paul was speaking to the Gentiles, not in the body of Christ, but in the remnant of Israel.
Romans 11:17 The Gentiles were grafted into the remnant of Israel.
Romans 11:20 Unbelieving Israel was broken off the tree. The Gentiles were grafted in by faith
Romans 11:20 The Gentiles could also be broken off branches.
Romans 11:25-27 Israel will be saved.

Galatians 3:8 Gentiles would be justified by faith....this is the promise of Galatians 3:14

Galatians 3:16 Christ is the seed

Galatians 3:29  We are Abraham's seed.....Christ is the seed....we are Christ's.....therefore we are heirs not with Abraham, but heirs of Christ

We are the children of Abraham as Paul said. He was trying to convey to the Gentiles that we are one with the Jews, and God sees no difference. This is very important because the Jews are taught that they are superior to the Gentiles. The Talmud they use refers to Gentiles in extremely derogatory ways. The Lord knows this and the scriptures that show the Gentiles are one with the Jews and are considered Jews too, negates the bigotry and racism that the Jews are taught.

So if we take only Israel from Adam till Christ comes. They don't begin to make dent as we look up at the stars. God told Abraham if you can number the stars

"Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”

The holy spirit said "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

Born again/born from above is not this flesh born in this sinful world. What was made NEW in each believer is not flesh. So its not Jewish not American, Chinese so forth so on. One body and Christ is the head.

So just WHO was God talking about asking Abraham "if you are able to number them". Abraham is my father also. As Issac was I am a child of promise. "We are the children of Abraham " amen praise GOD GLORY TO JESUS! This is in you. Its not something you just read and hmm ok. You just know it. Believers are more family then flesh and blood.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
