Where did Paul make any reference to Enoch's book?

In this article I’m will prove to you conclusively from the words and from the mouth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ himself, that the book of Enoch is scripture.

Matthew 22 verses 23 through 29

In a discussion about the resurrection it says, “that same day Jesus was approached by
some Sadducees, religious leaders who say there is no
resurrection from the dead. They posed this question, “Teacher Moses said if a man dies without children and his brother should marry the widow and have a child who will carry on the brother’s name.
Well suppose there were seven brothers and the oldest one married and then died
without children so his brother married the widow but the second brother also died
and the third brother married her this continued with all seven of them. Last of all the woman also died.

So tell us, whose wife will she be in the resurrection? For all seven were married to her. And
Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that
YOU DON’T KNOW THE SCRIPTURES, and you don’t know the power of God.

For when the dead rise they will neither marry nor be given in marriage in this respect
they will be like the angels in heaven.”

What scripture is Jesus talking about?

He’s saying your mistake is you don’t know the scriptures, well what scripture in the old testament (because He couldn’t be talking about a new testament because there wasn’t one) what scripture in the old testament does it say, the angels are not given in marriage?
It’s not in the old testament. So what scripture could he possibly be talking about?

He’s talking about the book of Enoch

It’s the only book where you’re gonna find this. It’s not in the canon. It’s not in the
pseudographica. It’s in the apocrypha…in the book of Enoch.

Enoch chapter 15 verses 4 through 7

Speaking to the angels he says, and you were spiritual holy living an eternal life
but you became unclean upon the women and begot children through the blood of
flesh and lusted after the blood of men and produced flesh and blood as they do
who die and are destroyed. And for this reason I give men wives so that they may sow
seed in them and so that the children might be born by them, so that deeds might be done on the Earth.

But you formerly were spiritual living in eternal immortal life for all the generations of
the world for this reason i did not arrange wise for you, because the dwelling of the spiritual ones is in heaven.

So what did Jesus say? He said when the dead rise they will neither marry nor be given in marriage. In this respect they will be like the angels in heaven.

And it says the same exact thing in the book of Enoch.

Jude as we know does quote Enoch and he also quotes the ascension of Moses.

So I’m just gonna say this right out front. In that same book where he quotes the book of Enoch Jude says in verse 17…

But dear friends remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold,  they said to you in the last times there will be scoffers.

Many “Christians” scoff and deny the book of Enoch and in fact go so far as to call it satanic!

…there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires. These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the spirit.

Those are strong words and they’re not my words. I would pray to the Lord God that He would open everyone’s eyes and grant everyone repentance.

Those who have ears who hear and those who will not let their pride get in the
way of true salvation, let them hear.

Guess its what you treat it as. Its a very interesting read, even has some interesting information in it, but you need to take it with a grain of salt because its clearly not inspired.

If you treat it like, say a good commentary, you stand to learn a lot. Commentaries are nothing more then a authors opinion on a subject, and usually has a lot of good insight on it, bur being as its not inspired commentators, even the best, get some things wrong and no one expects them to be perfect or put them on the same level as the Bible.

The book of enoch is the same way, an uninspired book with good information. You take it like you would a good commentary you will be fine. You try to treat it like inspired scripture however, then your going down a dangerous path.

I like this statement Dennis.  Our Lord works in mysterious ways sometimes to get us to think outside the box and seek knowledge and wisdom!

I'd be surprised if 10% of the people who post here know the history of how the bible came to be.  :)

And for me this is exactly what I am trying to learn.  The history of the compilations of sacred writings and scripture and the difference.  I appreciate each person sharing their thoughts and knowledge.  There is so much intelligence out there when one is seeking truth.  God will reveal what He feels necessary to each individual seeker!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
