Even knowing for certain that God—without fail—always brings us successfully through every discouraging and discomforting difficulty, it doesn’t ease much of the “hardness” in what the trial brings. It can often shorten the soak-time when remembering all of this, but nothing is supposed to detract from the exact level of difficulty God tailor-fits for each believer and each trial (1Co 10:13). This is what produces in us a desire to maintain stable dependence on God and continue to receive ever-increasing conformity “to the image of His Son.”

It is in how “patiently” (Rom 12:12) we “endure hardness” (2Ti 2:3) that indicates to ourselves the level of understanding in applying faith to His promise of causing them to benefit us (Rom 8:28). The manifestation of this promise is shown in our manner of “casting all you care on Him” (1Pe 5:7), by being convinced in the certainty of His assurance to us. He left us His “peace” (Jhn 14:27), and resting in it is trusting in Him, which represents the acme or pinnacle of it all, so that we will be more effectively used by Him!

In our walk of encouragement we join with that “great cloud of witnesses” (Heb 12:1) whom went before us (Heb 11), as we “run with patience” by “looking unto Jesus.” Let us optimize our opportunities in exercising our faith in the trying times, and learn all the more of our gratitude and love to God in the peaceful times.

Even though we will at times (even when often) be lost for thought, the Father keeps us “standing” in, and from “falling” from, the growth lessons—so dear—in our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom 14:4; Jde 1:24). May we also keep before us the following exhortation: that all believers, in heaven and earth, are literally united to one another and to the Father and Son—by the Holy Spirit—and thus are never truly alone!

God Be Blessed!

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to beconformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Thank you for your message because I am going through one of those tough times right now. I forget to be patient and stay focused. Know that God is always near He seems to be distant at times. I find im getting discouraged and mind is in overtime. Have you ever been between waiting  or moving ahead when you are not sure what God wants. Everything is a stumbling block, but God seems silent. Pray that i may be content and be at peace. I must be still. Patience is hard for me

God bless

Hi Brother, and thanks for your sincere comments! Patience is the most difficult to apply because it is the primary gauge and indicator concerning the strength of our faith, it being in what we "possess" our mind or "soul" (Luk 21:19). Regardless of what or how we think we are doing, we are always brought again to "the stirring of the water" (Jhn 5:4), and it's always the Father that comes to us for the much needed restoration of encouragement (Luk 15:20). As you mentioned the importance of being still and waiting on Him.

The relief or blessing is not the lesson, it's in the waiting and dependence on God. When we know of the permanency of our union with Him, we will be more patient in His twofold promise that He doesn't forsake and always provides. The unnecessary weight many carry and keeps us from growth is the lack of these two promises. But if we are His it will always show in our growth in the Lord Jesus' ways (glorifying the Father).

The only method of manifesting trust is ever "casting all your care on Him, because He cares for you" (1Pe 5:7). I love to fish and I see it much like casting and waiting, but the difference is that we will always catch the blessings.

God's blessings to your Family, and to you in growing in the strength of your faith for them!

Just a note for those going through tough times.

When I was weak in my faith decades ago, I had a desire to seek him because a lot of things in my life were not going that great. I went through a period of years of both trials and blessing. I can look back on it now and see how it strengthened my faith. And the further I went with it, the greater my faith grew.

Right now life is good, my faith is much stronger than what it was years ago and I have been blessed.

It was a difficult and long period of my life and I am grateful for both faith and the blessings.

Appreciate your reply and sincere comments! I've learned that the more we exercise our faith in trials (which always come for strengthening) the greater the peace and pleasure in Him.

We tend to think that trials are always burdensome and overwhelmingly challenging and almost evil in design.  However, we should have a proper view of trials.  Knowing that our eternal future depends on endurance, we can be confident of assistance from on high, Christians should not dread trials and tribulations, resenting them or giving in to complaint, self-pity, or bitterness. The apostle Paul admonished: “Exult while in tribulations, since we know that tribulation produces endurance.” (Ro 5:3) Trials borne patiently and steadfastly with divine help reveal that a Christian possesses the needed quality of endurance—something that was not known in actuality and by experience before the tribulation began.

Endurance should be allowed to have “its work complete” by letting the trial run its full course without any attempts to use unscriptural means to bring it to a swift end. Then, faith will be tested and refined, and its sustaining power will be revealed. Areas of weakness may be exposed, putting the Christian in a position to see defects and to make needed improvements. The molding effect of trials endured faithfully can make a person more patient, sympathetic, compassionate, kind, and loving when dealing with fellow humans. Thus, by permitting endurance to “have its work complete,” a person will not be “lacking in anything” that God looks for in his approved servants.—Jas 1:2-4.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
