Well was just wondering about how lately it really seems to be happening in so many places, even in my own household, even though i am only a guest there, but still i have noticed that it has been extremely intense lately, but would rather not mention the family member that has been "attacked" the most. But what has really caught my attention and shown me something i have never really experienced before and is something i would have least expected. To make a long story short, there is this guy who is working on my car and has been for over a week now. But the thing is that he was diagnosed with throat cancer some time ago, and so was in my prayers to begin with, but unfortunately there were some unforseen problems with my car and i took it the wrong way and kind of accused them of not being completely straight with me, by leading me on into thinking it would be an easy fix and be done by now. Well this guy did not take that to well, and actually responded to me in a text how he was ready to undo and remove all the parts he had already installed on my car, and also how his mother was the real owner of this business and had already advised him to just stop any more work on it and be done with it/me, period! Well coming from someone who i had thought was so humble with throat cancer, and who i had actually made some intercessory prayer over, i was a bit disturbed about it to say the least. Because i thought i had it all figured out, and this guy was going to possibly be the miracle i had been waiting for, as far as praying for healing and deliverance, since i haven't had too much luck praying for myself. BUT, it turned out to be a complete nightmare, and this guy actually texted me back that his mother was to the point of "cussing" me out because of not being satisfied with the work done on my car, which was also very weird behavior over something like this. And after over a week now for what were not major repairs, this guy now wants me to come over and discuss it with him in person. So hopefully we can work things out put this all behind me...

I had that run-in in the 70's..   They don't seem to want to be around me these days.  Make sure you have the Holy Spirit with you when you deal with them, and stay calm and cool...

Thanks for the advice, but the real strange thing in this case is how everything is being handled. Such as all the costs having to go on my credit card, and the only way i can even get a hold of this guy is by texting him. He can barely even talk so no use even calling him. It just seems to me like none of it was ever even meant to be and i should just forget about it and be done with everything. And i really barely even know this guy but he kind of turned on me all of a sudden when all i did was ask why he almost guaranteed my car would be ready by Friday and then suddenly finds something else wrong with it. I even went to the parts place and picked up something for him and paid for it thinking that would save some time, but apparently it didn't and keeping my car for over a week is almost something he seems very used to and expects to happen, and i am not even supposed to question it??? Anyway, i do agree that all i can do is be as humble about it as possible and hope and pray he doesn't keep beating around the bush with this since i desperately need my car in order to accept any other job offers that i would have already taken if not for this. Just a lot of very negative energy around me lately and it almost feels like God is really testing me and allowing Satan to do a lot of it for Him, not to accuse God of being unjust, but not sure what is going on right now, and feel like i am all on my own with everything that's happening lately.

Sounds a bit weird.   As you said, this could be going a lot of different directions.   Don't want to incorrectly accuse but at the same time don't want to be taken advantage of with a huge bill for things not needed.

As a FWIW story which may or may not apply here.    We had something similar happen with a local mechanic the first time we went to him in the last place we lived.  Didn't even have the promised loaner for when the part "didn't arrive on time".   As we were standing there, he answered the phone and gave someone the same promise of a loaner we'd gotten. We got our car back within a few days and the work was okay.  We went to the dealer the next time which was an awful mess.  Some friends really recommended the local mechanic so next time we went back and tried again since there was no other option in town.

It turned out he did good work for good rates but was just overwhelmed with work.  Within the next five years, he'd built his own multi-bay building and had a handful of mechanics working for him.  Bottom line was he did good work and was honest and made sure his mechanics had the same attitude.  Having an office manager to deal with ordering parts, scheduling, and paperwork freed him to do what he was good at which was fixing cars.  We went there for over a decade and in a small town with an active gossip chain rarely heard a bad word about him and his crew.

In contrast, when we lived in a college town, we went to a local dealer twice, and each time a "new" problem developed.  My memory is vague, but what are the odds of picking up a rock in the brake rotors (requiring a new set and expensive repair) the same day of picking up a car?  And never having had or even heard of that problem before then or since?

Not much to offer for advice other than "to be wise as serpents and innocent as doves".  (Matt 10:16)

Your story reminds me of a garage I frequented in California ages ago, @GandalfTheWise. The owner appeared like just another mechanic; if you didn't know the story behind the place you'd assume the fellow who did all the talking was the proprietor. Nope.

The owner wanted to work on cars which he was good at and the guy in the office handled the business aspects of the place. They had a few mechanics working with the owner but they were constantly busy... You had to schedule work a week in advance.

I've had experience dealing with small town mechanics and to risk a cliche, I'll paraphrase Forrest Gump: they're like a box of chocolates. You never know what're you're going to get until you try one.

are you sure that there is really other things wrong with your car....   it is very common for some places to take advantage of people who are not familiar with cars and how they work.  I've experienced dishonest mechanics in the past.   I would get my car and take it somewhere else.

Sometimes these things just don't feel right because something truly isn't right and it's your intuition or the Holy Spirit telling you.

I'll never forget years ago one night late coming back from a late night service call I was a few towns over and in a bad part of town and I changed lanes to get on a one way street out of town. A small car went in front of me and braked forcing me to stop. The occupant  exited the car and was in a rowdy tirade about how I had just almost hit his girlfriend's car. I had no knowledge of this and so far as I knew I had been driving safely. He began to make threats and a voice in side me just said GET OUT. While he was talking I just got in my vehicle and left going around him. He tailed me for a bit. I came to a C-store with a state police sitting in the parking lot. I told him what happened and then proceeded to leave the area. People are often shot in this area.

My point is as Christians I think we have an inner voice we should be listening to. The Holy Spirit. I think we usually know when we made a wrong turn and ended up in a bad or potentially bad situation. Sometimes it's best just to remove yourself from the insanity. Realize that it could be evil working against you.

Above all PRAY that God guides you in everything, even with something as seemingly trivial as an auto repair. If you somehow turned into the proverbial alley, get out fast.

Well actually it all turned out OK and he didn't even charge me for the extra repair since it had taken so long already, so i feel like the Lord showed me some favor in this case. And the guy is actually very honest and does good work, but is just overwhelmed with the workload and lack of help, which can cause anyone to be easily irritated with customer complaints. And i did kind of deserve it for saying what i did, realizing now that no way would anyone with so much work be trying to look for something else to fix on a car when they didn't have to, and i really feel stupid for thinking that. And usually Google reviews are pretty accurate, and this guy got nothing but 5 stars on every one, so i feel even worse now.

But maybe it was a just a good lesson to learn and keeps you from jumping to conclusions in the future. And i'm actually sorry i even posted it to begin with, but do appreciate all the advice. But whether it was the Lord's will for me to even have this car fixed and not just give up on it is something else to consider, and sometimes I feel He will just let us have our own way if He knows we are not open to any other options.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
