I did.  But due to life circumstances I discovered there was information beyond what I already possessed.

First, if you do not mind, is the reason you selected a username as “Questioning” because you are “in the process” of investigating your path of salvation- Christianity or Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.?

Secondly, I am not sure your response here is telling me where you stand on Christ - has circumstances pushed or pulled you in one direction or another?

 Thanks, Charlie

No. I found Jesus and his wisdom.  But left behind the Old Testament myths and magic.  I don't buy the whole package of an inerrant bible.

I answered your question about Jesus in the post above.  I am now in the process of looking for the truth in all religions.  When I came here I was interested in seeing what "flavor" of Christians are here.

Thank you! There are two comments I would like to make at this time:

1) There is NO OT and NT... ALL Scripture is God inspired and it was man who divided HIS WORD in two as though one was more important or relevant to us.

2) If I were you I would not look for a “flavor” of Christians - we are ALL flawed! There is only ONE you should look to .... man, regardless of their religion or Christian denomination will have your answers or provide you with the path to salvation.

Best wishes in your journey and this, apparently, is a very  important time in your life - choose Jesus, HE will NEVER fail you, Charlie

I see many flavors of Christians, and the flavor here is of a cult.  Thanks for your best wishes, and I wish you the same.   Since my views are so different from most of those here, I probably should go on my way.  And by the way, at this time I have more peace of mind than any time in my life.  Just honing in on the direction to go from here.  I just found a book that seems to sum up my views.  A LITTLE HISTORY OF RELIGION, by Richard Holloway.  Take a look.

You seem to be seeking some sort of affirmation, but if you truly had found Jesus and His wisdom you wouldn't consider the OT to be myths and magic, knowing that Christ Himself upheld its contents, and quoted from it at least 45 times according to the NT, starting at Matthew 4.

Mat 4:1-4  Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.  (2)  And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.  (3)  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If you be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.  (4)  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Thank you for your response! I agree with you that there are more than a few views / interpretations / opinions within this forum, however, this is probably no different than any other forum, denomination, church, study group, etc.

God certainly understands how difficult this world is and even within the Christian faith there is disagreements, anger, hate, cults, and on and on! Heck, the RCC must have murdered and tortured over 60 million people (Christians) who did not follow their traditions, rituals, practices and beliefs! Nothing much has or will change!

Which is exactly why God took ALL of this away from man- The Jews were given the privilege and responsibility to bring and teach the One True God to mankind- not only did they fail miserably and keep HIM to themselves but they too was disobedient and committed idolatry over and over again.

God said “no more”, He sent His Son to us but of course was rejected and crucified. Man could no longer be trusted to represent, teach and show others the One True God. HE would send HIS HOLY SPIRIT and HE would be our teacher and counselor. We are only to seek HIM for ANY question and help for our salvation.

If you look for a perfect, near perfect or even a somewhat perfect Christian or Christian church that will give you some assurance or comfortable feeling that this is the right selection or group to join you will be disappointed EVERY TIME.

Ask the HOLY SPIRIT to come into your life and change you to become like our Messiah! If you do that and nothing happens, then do it again! Each one of us will have their own unique and rich transformation with and through HIM... you WILL cherish it ... continue seeking HIM not man!

Just my thoughts, Charlie

Don't you guys realize if you had been born in India, to a devout Hindu family, and had never looked seriously at other religions, you would believe Hinduism was the one true religion?

From what I read God covers them too because he knows this.

“Those who are not Jews don’t have the law. But when they naturally do what the law commands without even knowing the law, then they are their own law. This is true even though they don’t have the written law. They show that in their hearts they know what is right and wrong, the same as the law commands, and their consciences agree. Sometimes their thoughts tell them that they have done wrong, and this makes them guilty. And sometimes their thoughts tell them that they have done right, and this makes them not guilty. All this will happen on the day when God will judge people’s secret thoughts through Jesus Christ. This is part of the Good News that I tell everyone.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭2:14-16‬ ‭

But at some point

“Before the end comes, the Good News must be told to all nations.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭13:10‬ ‭

And we see this happening. God is the creator of all persons so if other religions are not speaking of non believers and eventually reaching all so that they may know the truth I would consider that.

Maybe Mel from India would be a good person to answer this thoroughly.

Are you scared to look outside your version of Christianity?

I don’t know if you will understand this but it’s like someone asking me to make sure that’s really my name, or that I’m really a female. God is more than just a thought in a book to those who believe he reveals himself.

Why should I believe without seeing while another gets proof that he can see. God says believe in him from the beginning. Nobody has to believe in what they can see.

I can’t say believe in the weather. Trust as time goes by the temperature will change. Wether you believe it or not it happens right before your eyes.

“But keep the Lord Christ holy in your hearts. Always be ready to answer everyone who asks you to explain about the hope you have.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:15‬ ‭

See he says be ready to explain not show, although we try to show at least love and kindness but for a nonbeliever who hasn’t read the Bible like you have they don’t know love and kindness is a major requirement and May ascribe it to just being a good person.

To answer your question I’m not scared to look it just makes no sense once you know the truth. I can understand looking when you don’t know the truth. I can also see why people think I don’t know the truth when they don’t know it.

It’s really spiritual for me the belief is not in any book it’s in my heart, mind, and soul. The Bible is my guide to follow because I believe.

Just something to think about while your looking.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
