I tried that renewing the mind for a whole bunch of years and never accomplished a thing. When I saw maybe to renew the mind meant to just put on the mind of Christ and it's done is when the lights turned on for me.

Romans 12:12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Renewing the mind, and presenting the body as a living sacrifice is a daily thing. Its living the Christian life. Yes we are saved, and grace is given us, but we still our responsible for taking care of our business. The epistles are full of instruction and encouragement to do exactly that.

Philippians 3:12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

and when I have reached the end of this journey I want to know that I left it all on the playing field and then I can say what Paul said when his end was near.

2nd Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Anyway, that's my take

I could still be correct if we factor in that there are indeed places in the Epistles where Paul is writing to babes who cannot handle the meat of the Scripture that I teach. However, even on the surface I can say Romans 12:2 could be presenting your bodies a living sacrifice by putting on the mind of Christ once and for all because it is not a daily thing. And Philippians has that word again "in Christ Jesus." And it's that in Christ Jesus that I believe is walking in the spirit. Timothy 4:7 can just be saying I stayed in the spirit of Christ and that's how I finished the race.

Milk is only for a Time,  If we are not maturing, we are not succeeding

------------------

Hebrews 5:12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

1 Peter 2:2 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby

1 Corinthians 3:3 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; 3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and [a]behaving like mere men?

---------------------

You are correct in stating that everything we are when we are saved is because of Christ, But what we become (grow up to be) is a joint effort of Christ and Us.

If we abdicate our responsibilities, we will forever remain babes.

The Bible tells us that since Jesus Christ is glorified, and since we have the spirit of Christ born within is how that puts us into the category of being glorified by God. It is written in Romans 8:29-30, “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”

What Romans is telling us is that by the knowledge of God, we were appointed to destiny by His divine decision to receive salvation. We will become similar to the image of His Son (who is the first to be risen out from among the dead) when Jesus Christ appears for the gathering together of the saints. Those who are the called of God, are the ones He invited into this extraordinary liberation from the slavery of sin nature, and therefore was able to transform us into a more excellent beauty.

I would like to point out we can only be glorified because it's God’s superiority, and exalted light that has magnified the Christ to shine in such beauty as an image of light, with divine praise, honor and dignity. It's the Christ who blazed a trail to God’s heart of love, and therefore was the first who was transformed into a more splendid and excellent beauty.

I am not perfect but I will be when I get my glorified body.

I would encourage you to find on YouTube the teaching called "The Perfect You" by... Andrew Farley, and listen to Part 5. Why? Because he says the complete opposite of what you just said.

No disagreement there, but that does not answer the question about how God is transformed, and allow me to add, into what?

The Word became flesh.

Indeed!

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons and daughters. (Galatians 4:4-5)

I understand what you're getting at, @Peterlag, when you write that you're not looking at things from our perspective. This is the essential disconnect and why so many find fault with much of what you write. As I pointed out elsewhere, we are already seated in the heavenly places with Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:6) but there's something that needs to be pointed out:

We also toil in this world bearing our weakness, being that body of corruption (the old man) which returns to the dust. All things proceed in the earthly realm according to time (Ecclesiastes 3:1) and until our appointed time comes, we are not with the Lord in fullness (2 Corinthians 5:8). The hope of our salvation in this world is thus, that the day comes when we will exchange the corruptible for the incorruptible (1 Corinthians 15:53).

That was not what was being said.  Read the OP and you will see what the transformation was about.

I read the op. I then read someone ask when GOD changed. I answered the latter.

Here is how the conversation went @popsthebuilder.  I read the following from Peterlag ...

Do you believe Jesus is God, if so, how was He transformed?

Since God has always been perfect, how could He "transform into a more and splendid and excellent beauty"?  This question has not been answered yet, unless one believes Jesus is not God, therefore having the space to improve.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
