Yes but we were talking about a person who doesn't follow the Spirit, whos mind is still carnal and not spiritual. How does that person think about Godly thoughts that come from the Spirit?

Oh right sorry,  they couldn’t think Godly thoughts could they, if they aren’t born again, they would still be in sin and darkness ,to be carnally minded is being alienated from God....they aren’t recognised by God until he saves them,/ regenerate..they would be blinded from the truth as I once was.

Gods love is not the same as mans fleshy love. Agreed? Gods love is selfless but mans love is not. You must actually lay down your life for others. The law is fulfilled in love but the fleshy mind cannot submit to Gods law.

Agreed, God’s Love Is Supreme, there is no love on the planet like it...only God can Love us as we need to be loved..that’s my belief. that’s where my security comes from, the Love of God and His Saving Grace.

I like comparing scriptures that pop into my mind. Lately i see myself thinking of the sower parable and comparing it to other scriptures.

Matthew 13:20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

Romans 8:5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[j]

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[k] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

When I rejoined the conversation I did not realize you were one of the two conversants. I will gladly bow out out without you answering the questions if you like. Just say so.

I did, but apparently the answer was missed. Go back and re-read the posts and consider the fact Romans 5-8 is written by a regenerate believer to regenerate believers about regenerate believers.

No, that is the exact opposite of what I said. The observant reader sees others have answered the question and others have affirmed my desire to hear specifically from you! I, apparently, am not the only one waiting for your answer to the question asked. Why are you starting fights where none exist? Why are you doing what you always do? Why are you always do what you do pretending it's not happening? Why are you doing what you always do pretending it isn't happening and then claiming its what the Bible teaches?

Just answer the question asked and we'll be having a healthy, thriving, functional possibly fruit-bearing conversation wherein two brothers collaboratively discuss this idea books other than the Bible are distractions even though you could possibly read a book and not be distracted. I will gladly commend a correct answer. Further the discussion!

Just answer the question asked. Given that you could read a book and not get distracted.....

How do you read a book and know that you are not distracted by error?

.

In as few words as possible, please give me a simple answer from your own words. If the bible says that the fleshy mind cannot think about what is Spiritual, why then do you say a fleshy mind can think about what is spiritual? Its simple, a fleshy mind doesn't have Gods love, it has mans love. The law is fulfilled in Gods love.

The Bible does not say the fleshly mind cannot think about what is spiritual. The question just asked has nothing to do with what scripture teachers or what I have posted.

I have just answered your question.

Now will you please answer mine?

How do you read a book and know that you are not distracted by error?

It says the fleshy mind thinks about fleshy things. Are you saying a fleshy mind can love like God loves? Scripture says that love fulfills the law and also that the fleshy mind cannot submit to God's law. Show me a fleshy mind that loves like God does. Without God we can do nothing, without abiding in Him we cannot bear fruit. What does your other books say?

Romans 8:6

The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace, the sinful mind is hostile to God.

It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.

Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.

Love God with your mind. How is this done?

Mark 12:28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”

29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[e] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[f] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[g] There is no commandment greater than these.”

To fill my mind with his word, to talk to him all day everyday, include Him in everything,Praise and Worship Him, thank Jesus for dying so that we all may be saved, focus on the Lord, submerse ourselves in Him.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned[e] and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
