Its not just how i choose to think that helps me overcome anxiety, its also prayer and waiting on God, as the scripture teaches us.

Try applying the whole passage because you're doing only a sixth of what God directed.

Philippians 4:4-9
"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!  Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

  1. Rejoice in the Lord.
  2. Let your gentle spirit be known.
  3. Pray to God supplicantly with thanksgiving.
  4. Make known your requests.
  5. Think on things honorable, right, pure, lovely, of good repute, excellent, and worthy of praise.
  6. Dwell on them.

Try all five simultaneously and develop them into a way of life and not just an episodic occurrence and see if that doesn't change things for the better. Or don't. I understand you do not need teachers to teach you how to read God's book.

And don't forget: the fleshly mind can do these things but that will not have the same effect when done with the mind of the Spirit. ;)

I did mention this.

Thinking about this scripture, it says to rejoice in the Lord always. And it teaches us to think about good things of the Spirit. We should love one another. Im thinking about that. Amen?

The same effect? Please elaborate, thank you.

It won’t have the same affect Whyme as a non believer, I remember sitting in the bath once as a non believer, saying ,why don’t you help me with this problem if there is a God,  completely and utterly alienated from God, absolutely nothing, completely dead my Spirit.

I had to wait for a few years, then my miracle happened,I was saved by God, the Holy Spirit indwells me, oh to be in the presence of God and his child, absolute bliss, words can’t express my appreciation and joy that I have.

Biggest Honour and Privilege of my life, to be saved by God and have the Holy Spirit indwells me...30 yrs and counting...

I use to read that scripture (Philippians 4) and i would agree but never actually practiced it faithfully. Now i cant see myself doing anything less. Is there not a battle raging within each of us? There is in me. I remember the old man well and dont want to be him anymore.

1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

11 But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

This is frustrating.

I've already covered the answer to that question several times both here in this thread and in many another. Not sure why it hasn't been read or understood.

Let's try this:

Is it possible for an atheist to be patient?
Is it possible for an atheist to be kind?

Please just answer the questions asked.

Thank you, that was not so hard bro. Let me expand the question so we have no misunderstandings. Is it possible for an atheist to to be as patient as God is? Or as kind? No. Can an atheist love like God does? Are we not to strive for that kind of love, and let me remind you love fulfills the law but the fleshy mind  cannot understand it because its spiritually discerned and the fleshy mind cannot submit to God law of love. They dont think about that kind of love. Look at 1 Co 13, can an Atheist have that kind of love?

Corinthians 13

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Whyme, I asked the question I wanted answered and I asked that question for reasons that I hoped would be mutually edifying. It is rude and disrespectful to change my words.

So in an act of good faith I am going to ask the questions again hoping I don't read more of the same avoidance and disrespect.

Is it possible for an atheist to be patient?
Is it possible for an atheist to be kind?

Please just answer the questions asked.

Im not disrespecting you. You are disrespecting me. No need to get personal. Where do you get those words from? I need context. Is it from scripture? There are two kinds of love, correct? There is mans fleshy love and God's mature love. We are debating whether the fleshy mind can love, or rather think about Godly love. So i ask, can an atheist be as loving (as patient, love is patient) as God? You are basically claiming Atheists can love like God loves. You will prolly say im mistaking your words but thats what it sounds like.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
