Hello fp,

I would suggest it may be time for you start encouraging your own soul with the promises of God's Word, and reminding yourself of His goodness towards you.

Psalm 42:5 - Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.

Feelings are fickle and untrustworthy. But God is faithful – and His Word is unfailingly true.

Men have been rebuked for lack of faith, but never for faith, or for asking great things from God (Matt. 6:30; 14:31; 16:8; Luke 24:25; James 1:5-8) There should never be a doubt  of receiving from God if a believer will see to it that he has faith without doubting and questioning anything without waver about an answer. This is the first step of the Christian experience. One who is in Christ is a new creature, all old things, including unbelief, have passed away, and all things have become new, and all things are of God (2 Cor. 5:1-7).
The second step is to know the Word of God. "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God" (Rom. 10:17; 15:7; 1 Cor. 1:18-21; Gal. 3:11; 2 Thess. 2:13). After getting into Christ, the next thing to do is to start reading the Word of God and meditating on it day and night. We are promised by God that if we do this we will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that will bring forth its fruit in its season and whatsoever we do, it shall prosper (Ps.1; Josh 1).
Don't pray for faith, for praying for faith is a prayer of unbelief. Consequently there is no answer to this prayer. God's Word alone can give you the basis for answered prayer. We are not told by God to pray for faith, but we are told by God to "Have faith in God" (Mark 11:22-24).
Obey the Word of God to the letter, regardless of how foolish it may appear, God's ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. His ways are as high as the heavens compared to our ways; so accept His Word as the right thing on every question and obey it to the letter, and it will be proved the right thing to do.
By exercising your faith you will cause it to grow (Romans 1:17). "Whoever hath, to him shall be given; and whoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have" (Luke 8:18). Just as any muscle that remains unused, useless, becomes dead and lifeless, so it is with faith. We must use what we have if we want to become strong and dynamic.
Faith is not only a natural ability or exercise of a created faculty of man, but it is a fruit of the Spirit and a gift from God (Gal. 5:22-23; 1 Cor. 12:4-11) When man uses his own powers of faith in God and his Word properly he makes contact with God in a supernatural way, he becomes partaker of the divine nature (2 Pet. 1:3-4). You can constantly add to your faith the virtues of God by yielding to God in daily life (2 Peter 1:4-10).

You have enough faith as it is, the fact that you believe it shows that you have enough faith, you are saved.

You don't.  Faith or trust is a gift from God.

How much we have or its quality does not matter.

that said it is something that is nurtured by things like attending church, something you will not do. by reading, thinking about and praying about the bible.

by listening to recordings of sermons. try the Martin Llod-jones trust in the uk for expository sermons going through the bible.

read biblical based blogs, coldcasechristianit, answersingenesis, winteryknight, reasonablefaith to name a fe.

spend time praying for those in need, you can't prat for church members but you can follow release international or the Barnabas fund and start praying for perscuted christians.

Follow the news and pray for what is happening nationally and internationally.

Follow the prayer requests on this forum.

Faith/trust in God is not a feeling but the motivation for action. It is outward looking, which is partly why Ive encouraged you to get involved in a church.

what do you do about supporting charities, particularly christian chariyies and missions with both prayer and cash?

Pray that God would increase your faith, and study your Bible. Faith is resting assured of what we know is true. You can't know what's true without studying the Bible. Read, study, memorize, carry it in your heart always. Make a serious effort to study it each day. Use a good Bible commentary. There are many on Blue Letter Bible (website). Listen to sermons from good pastors who teach powerfully from scripture.

Is there a reason you won't go to church either in person or online?

how can i have faith

  • "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Rom 10:17)

So, pray to Jesus, mull over the Holy Scripture and abide by what Jesus reveals to you, loving people around you as Jesus loved you (John 13:34,35).

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
