I see it like this: Paul said our battle is not flesh and blood, but principalities, etc.--but the reality is that the Lord has won the battle and because He did, we have the victory 'In Him'. The battle is was and will be His. We get to "STAND" in that reality by faith. We get to rest because He did the work. When the enemy comes at us, we refer him to Christ rather than engage. The enemy doesn't like that. We stand on conquered ground and he knows this. Get off that ground and we have difficulty...nevertheless there is Romans 8.28.

@Alive

@Hopefully Why is it that loving one another as Christ loved the church is such a foreign part of the conversation here,  as well as in most conversations on every forum I am on.

1 Corinthians 13

The Excellence of Love

1 "If I speak with the tongues of mankind and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may [a]glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.

4 Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. 5 It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered, 6 it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails".

---------------------------------------------------------------------

◄ John 13:34 ►
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

John 13:35

By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”

---------------------------------------------------------------------

2nd Timothy 2:14, "Remind the believers of these things, charging them BEFORE GOD to >"AVOID QUARRALING"< over words, which succeeds only in leading the listener to "RUIN."

---------------------------------------------------------------------

People like to enter a forum like it's an arena for Roman gladiators, to do VERBAL BATTLES, ignoring all these verses on love as well as many others.

There is no Godliness in the way these topics are used to "SHRED a persons faith," by the way we justify these Battles that GOD OPENLY CONDEMNS over and over.

Scripture says,

1st John 4:20, "If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, "he is a LIAR". For he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?"

Love God

Love your neighbor

Love those who hate you

Love those who persecute you

Love is the main theme of scripture, but instead of honoring God, we choose to honor ourselves with caustic sarcasm, baligerance, arrogance and cynical egotism.

Can any of you be "REAL CHRISTIANS" if you continually abide in purposeful and deliberate SIN LEADING TO DEATH???

That is the real reason I posted this after seeing the same, so people can have a better experience by remembering they don’t need to react to everything. Thank you for bringing it up.

I would humbly submit that we don't choose our battles but rather they are foisted on us.  Some just by the nature of being a Christian.  These test our faith and cause us to grow and mature

James 4:2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces [a]patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Some by our own foolishness.  But I take heart that whatever it is that comes our way....will not be more than we can handle. Including the temptation to fail or collapse under the pressure

1 Cor 1013 No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].

As Alive said...we are in a war, and when should keep our armor well kept and equipped.

The one thing we MUST avoid  is taking it personally. Because the reason we face these battles is because Jesus is our Lord

I dunno. The friction debate part of this must have gone right over my head. I didn't sense it although I was concerned someone might take me wrong.

Is this a battle? Geesh I hope not.:D

Some where my friend in this is a balance. The free discussion and disagreement is important in the scheme of sharing and learning

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron,
So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

But as with all things it can be done right or wrong. If someone is offended because someone disagrees with them, then they are in pride and in flesh and  (aka without love) yes it is useless if not harmful

But if the truth, is spoken  in love  then it has profit

2 Timothy 4:2

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

I have observed that this is often not the case. When people are not spoken to in love instead of arguing sometimes it’s best to just say nothing and give it to God.

@Justin Adams

Hi Justin

This was a quote online from supposedly the NASB, but I am discovering that I have to really read over the verses carefully as there are people out there rewriting verses that don't quote as the translation is worded.

Just another subversive attack on the truth.

Anyway, there are an almost unlimited amount of bible translations out there, and the word "MANKIND" is used in many of them.

What is COOL is that no matter the word used, it can be looked up and find the meaning if your a student of scripture.

Thanks for asking and god Bless.

Speak the truth...once. And then let it go

But please do remember in this format you are not just speaking to one person but many, including someone who might  be shaken by what is being said.  I think this is what Jesus means by Being a Light, there may be darkness all around, but if you shine with the light of truth, that gives hope, it gives clarity for those lost in the darkness

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
