To those of us 60+ years old. Imagine if you will, going to bed one night and going into a coma in 1965 A.D., and awakening 56 years later and it is 2021 A.D. Aside from the technology advancements and changes, how would you view the world you are now living in? What morals, values, cultural changes would you immediately notice. As you are gathering information and history on everything that transpired in those lost 56 years, what would you be thinking? At the rate of all this "change", what's it going to be like five, ten years from now?

Culture shock. When did we go from a civilization of hard working dreamers who see their mind to put someone on the moon, to the lazy lay about self absorbed narcissistic culture we are today.

Where we need a safe place if someone hurts our wittle feewings

@Dennis1209

1965 huh??

I had already graduated from college and was 1 year into my career.

I had a 1950 Mercury with a Chrysler hemi I put in it, and with all my buddies would cruise the main streets of SoCal and go to the original MacDonalds on Friday and Saturday nights to hang out and listen to Wolfman Jack ...AHHOOOW, and eat 15 cent hamburgers.

You talk like 1965 was a long time ago, but I'd say the beginning of the 1940's was a lot longer ago .

SoCal where I grew up was the "GOLDEN AGE", I grew up in and everyone today looks back and wishes they could have lived then.

It was even better that stories are told today, and am blessed immensly that I was there to grow up as a teenager in the 50's and 60's.

Christianity?? It was worlds different than today and totally unrecognizable to what we call Christianity today.

Sad, Christianity didn't get better, but was instead swallowed up, and turned into the beast some of us call one of the ANTI-CHRISTS today.

If you could look back as far as I can, you'd have no disagreements to what I just said here.

God bless you all and may the REAL truth of God's salvation and purpose be revealed to you.

My name is Arrabon

Well I'm not quite that old yet but close.

I have socks older than some of the people I work with.

For me it was it a different time. Our "technology" was a black and white television and a hanging corded phone. Our 1st color TV was something I bought used because I worked at a TV repair shop.

No one had a clue what a computer was or if they did it was only something geeks played with that had no use in the real world. I remember the old mechanical cash registers. People looked at you odd if you pulled out a credit card. Government was something I seen as disconnected from the average person working person unless you had been drafted into the VietNam war. I came along as a bit too young for the draft but I remember it.

Spiritually here in the US I think we were riding a wave of success coming out of WW2. I don't see men's hearts as having really been changed. People were just building houses and having families. Men went out and worked. Women stayed home with the kids. It was a simple life.

Much like the 1930's in the US there was prohibition  this underground night life happening probably mostly by those better off. Those less well off were making moonshine and still managed to "party".  There was still a "Christian" segment, so the two lived alongside one another. Churches on the corner and bars down the street. After WW2 we were riding a wave of success materially that carried us well into the 1960's and 70's. I think it was the children of these WW2 soldiers and factory workers who were often handed the success and didn't realize where or who it came from, the price it took to earn it and maybe more importantly why we fought. That generation decided to look more at eastern religions and ideas over Christian ones. Adopting Socialist Marxist ideologies in the universities. I seen things beginning to seriously slide in the late 60's even though I was still very young. The erosion had begun way before that. The combination of financial success coupled with lack of firm Biblical foundations cause many young people to go aloof looking for something maybe better than what they though dad was telling him or her.

.....And men have always had this tendency to slide away from what is good. It's that old nature we all have. Whether people thought they could find better or were just caught up in thrill seeking that lacked any moral discrepancy in knowing right and wrong. People knew what was wrong and enjoyed doing it more than what was right. Young people out sowing those "wild oats" that surely always catch up to the best of us in the end. In the beginning I think our nation thought we could play both sides of the fence. More recently we have completely jumped to the wrong side. Our trajectory is one of utter failure and defeat unless we wake up soon. Things have only continued to get worse.

Every generation seems to think they lived in a "golden age" and maybe many things were easier or seemed better then. Sin and sinful men have always been alive and well in every generation, yet things seem to slide in negative directions with every society. Happened to  Rome, Greece and Egypt. Things are great. Sin and rebellion take hold and society declines.

Where are things headed? I see real promise in many of our young people here in the US in spite of all the tripe that's been hitting us. There will certainly be a remnant of faithful Christian believers here until the very end. I am optimistic that the Lord will continue to move in ways we don't yet know or understand. I don't think this will be because our society decided to turn to God. I think it will be in spite of it. The devil can unload everything he has, but he can't save himself and he won't ever defeat Christians or Christianity. All he can do is throw rocks at the tank. They look like very large unforgiving rocks, yet God is ALWAYS in control.

God's will WILL be done here on earth in spite of everything hell can throw at it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
