The Intellect Verses The Heart

I would say my intellect is pretty average.

Can we discuss how important it is to have intellect,?

No disrespect to those with high intellect, but, do you think that being overly intellectual ,it can hinder the work of the Holy Spirit, in their hearts?

Are they at a disadvantage in any way?......is their thinking over complicated?....they are highly intellectual, so surely  must be thinking that way constantly?

Can the Holy Spirit work better in a meek uncomplicated mind?...on saying that most minds are complicated aren’t they....I guess the Holy Spirit speaks to the heart of a person ,which is relayed to the mind.

i am growing and trying to understand,...no problems if this OP is taken off course,..I love to see the twists and turns of an OP.

can also understand how annoying it can be to those who like to stay strictly to the OP......we all differ.?

Hi, Clancy.

Matthew 5:5
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

The meek are those who are humble before God—who allow the Word of God to guide them and lead them in judgment and in the paths of righteousness (doing things His way).

Psalm 25:9
The meek will He guide in judgment: and the meek will He teach His way.

Amen!!.....I believe our pride can get in the way at times,.we are a work in progress, my pride took over yesterday as did my friends, she asked me to leave, it was all over scripture, long story, nothing got resolved, I sent her a message, trying to explain, we need to sit down and air our differences ,our Spirits seem to be in conflict with each other, this is the second time this has happened,...I can’t accept what she preaches, she can’t accept what I preach, if that’s the right word.

i know God is in the situation,I just have to let it go and give it to him.

We both said nasty things to each other, it just came out...I couldn’t stop my tongue...thank God I have Jesus to confide in, I get real with him and poured it all out to him last night.

she poured everything out to her friend who in turn took her side...

Dear sister, the Lord creates each and every one of us. We are the work of His hand and it pleases the Lord to raise a many-membered Body upon this earth, fit for these works He ordained for us to walk in, living stones precious to Almighty God in His temple raised without human hands.

A many-membered Body. The hand is not the foot but each in their place; the hand is not the foot but both are essential. Is one part superior to the other part? Of course not. The hand and the foot are members of the same body, an assembly of diverse parts functioning in unity under the rulership of the Head, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Son of God is the Head of His Body upon this earth and this is who we are: the Body of Christ. :)

Each one of us has a psalm, a word of encouragement, and a gift from the Lord to bring before His assembly of holy ones. The Lord is the giver of gifts and so it's our place to give to others according to our calling in Christ Jesus. There's nothing wrong nor amiss with the expansive or simple mind. Both are the workmanship of God.

Remember the allegory of the many-membered body. Does the hand say to the foot "What's wrong with you?", and does the foot say to the hand "You're not needed, go away!" ?

Let us beware of anti-intellectualism and the opposite, both of which are snares of the fowler. At no time did I dictate to the Potter how He should work the clay in His hand... did you, @clancy? Did any of us? No. We are as the Lord in His wisdom fashioned us to be. There's no benefit nor advantage between one and the other.

God gives us his divine intelligence , you cannot understand the Bible with your own intellect, it must come from the Holy Spirit.?

I ask God to think like Jesus, I don’t want my thinking, only my flesh got in the way yesterday, with my fiend....,just the enemy trying to create havoc...he sneaks in so unexpectedly......but I rest assured that God is in the situation.

It is clear by How the Lord communicates with us His desire in this:
Isa 1:18-20

18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
KJV

The key is reasoning with God and that is spelled out by God as well

2 Tim 3:15-17

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
KJV

I disagree with you on this... as The Word came from The Holy Spirit and no where in The Word does it say The Word is not sufficient to lead one to salvation...

No worries brother, you are entitled to your belief.

of course the word comes from the Holy Spirit, he testified to my spirit that I’m his child...so not sure what your disagreeing with? ?.....may I add before I ever read a bible, I think I read somewhere that you don’t believe that?

That you must read the bible to be saved?...I don’t agree with that, I think that has been discussed on here many times, so I won’t be discussing that again, as I won’t budge on that belief...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
