Yes, when a person becomes a born again Christian they still have free will. Salvation is God's work. Our motives, desires and actions are voluntary, and we are held responsible for them.

Are you talking about after we are saved?...

Can/will anyone here post any scripture that actually states and doesn't just imply the unbelieving, unregenerate sinner has an unfettered or free will?

Anyone?

Do they have free will, the unregenerate?

not sure what you mean?

Do we have free will when we’re saved?

here are a few example of people having the ability to do what they want. There are a lot  more than these.

“But you people have sinned more than your ancestors. You are very stubborn, and you are doing only what you want to do. You are not obeying me. Because you do only what you want to do,”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭16:12‬ ‭

“They told you, “In the last times there will be people who laugh at God and do only what they want to do—things that are against God.”
‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:18‬ ‭

“You know that if you do what is right, I will accept you. But if you don’t, sin is ready to attack you. That sin will want to control you, but you must control it.””
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭

“The sinful self wants what is against the Spirit, and the Spirit wants what is against the sinful self. They are always fighting against each other, so that you don’t do what you really want to do.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭

“The Lord says, “Look, you people want to do whatever you want. So light your own fires and torches, but you will be punished. You will fall into your fires and torches and be burned. I will make that happen.””
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭50:11‬ ‭

“So young people, enjoy yourselves while you are young. Be happy. Do whatever your heart leads you to do. Do whatever you want, but remember that God will judge you for everything you do.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭11:9‬ ‭

Well @missmuffet after studying this topic for many decades (43 years), yes I am nearly 80, my own conclusion that works for me, and keeps the bible in harmony and unity, is that free-will and pre-destination work together, along with the omniscience of God as part of Gods plan for humanity, as well as his plan for each of us, Jeremiah 29:11-14.

In fact the whole bible speaks in harmony and unity with itself, it's only man that has created the contradictions that man is constantly battling over.

I am so thankful that through the Holy Spirit that the "old in faith", as many are here, have Gods truths revealed to them through much dedicated study over many many decades.

Job 12:12

Wisdom is with the aged,
And with long life comes understanding.

Proverbs 16:31

A gray head is a crown of glory;
It is found in the way of righteousness.

Yes, both free-will and pre-destination work together, but most will disagree for their lack of Godly knowledge, humility and wisdom, and their generous amount of ego and arrogance.

My name is Arrabon.

Makes sense, ...doesn’t God want us to be more like His Son, Jesus?...isn’t that the work of the Holy Spirit that indwells us?

What is the role of the Holy Spirit, who indwells a born again?

Amen.  To be like Jesus the Son of Man, who said to the Father, "not my will, but thy will be done".  Jesus had a will and He subjected it to the Father's will....setting the example for us, so yes, looks like we come with a will that we can exercise.

Do you mean we exercise it, to do the will of God Sis?

Not My will Lord, Your will be done?

when I wake in the morning, go before me Lord, let my flesh not take over?

Let me submit to the Holy Spirit...

Amen....that is beautifully said sister.  That's what i believe too, and it's His Spirit within us that makes us desire to and be willing to subject our will to His.

Though I also believe that there are times when the Lord may exercise His will upon us without our specific consent, eg, when He translated Phillip to another place.  I'm guessing the Lord just did that spontaneously without Phillip's prior knowledge or consent.   Or perhaps in shielding someone from harm miraculously in a car accident for example.  Things like that.

Times when the Lord may harden someone's heart too....the bible says He holds the hearts of kings in His hands.  But generally He allows us to exercise our own will most of the time, and doesnt' go against our will, unless in His wisdom He deems it necessary.

WHEN  DOES  GOD  PUT  INTO  ACTION  HIS  WILL

JOHN 14:14 --if-- you shall ask anything in MY name I will do it

1 JOHN 5:13  these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the ---SON  OF  GOD---that you may know that you have eternal life and that you may believe on the name of ---THE  SON  OFF  GOD---

--5:14-- and this is the confidence that we have in  HIM  that --if-- we ask anything according to  HIS  will  HE  heareth us

--5:15-- and if we know that  HE  hear us whatsoever we ask we know that we have the petitions that we desired of  HIM

MATTHEW 6:33  seek you first the kingdom of  GOD  and  HIS  righteousness and all these  things  shall be added unto you

ACTS 5:32  and we are witnesses of these things and so is the holy spirit---whom GOD  hath given to them ---that obey him---

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
