CHRISTIAN AND HOLY SPIRIT

God has given us clear established criteria by which all churches can measure themselves against - compliance with the word of God is the best way - therefore Pentecostal churches that rejoice in the ready supply and use of these nine gifts of the Holy Spirit must be doing what is right by God:

1Corinthins 12:1  Now concerning the spirituals, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
2  Ye know that as nations ye were led away unto those dumb idols, howsoever ye might be led.
3  Wherefore I make known to you, that no one speaking by God’s Spirit saith, Jesus is anathema; and no one can say, Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Spirit.
4  Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5  And there are diversities of ministrations, and the same Lord.
6  And there are diversities of workings, but the same God, who worketh all the things in all.
7  But to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit to profit.
8  For to one is given through the Spirit a word of wisdom; and to another a word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit:
9  to another faith, in the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, in the one Spirit;
10  and to another workings of powers; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits: to another kinds of tongues; and to another interpretation of tongues;
11  but all these worketh the one and the same Spirit, dividing to each severally even as he willeth.

Well, compliances with the word of God and thus we have to comply with John 3: 5-8 as it is a must that we must comply with. We must also comply with John 14: 16-17 and understand what it means, and the meaning of it is that people of the world will not accept the Holy Spirit, see or know it but it will be with the apostle only. This pass to us a message about Holy Spirit being with Apostles only. Jesus knew all his apostles would die yet he made the above promise and that means something is missing along the puzzle. It could be because, that is how God want according to God’s plan and this could mean there is possibility that God may have a plan in the future. This is why Jesus mentioned in Matthew 21 verse 43 (also see Matthew 23: 37:39) that the Kingdom of God will be taken away from the Israelites and will be given to other people which this very Kingdome will be established in the last days as Daniel saw in his dream (Daniel 2: 34-35 and 44-45).

Having John 14 verse 16 to 17 in mind, we must also comply with Luke 24 verse 49 where his apostles must stay in Jerusalem and do not leave the Jerusalem before they receive the Holy Spirit from above. They will only leave Jerusalem only when they receive Holy Spirit otherwise not thus, they must not live. So holy spirit came down and they receive the Holy Spirit. However, there are some people who have head the world of God and they believe in Jesus Christ but they did not receive the Holy Spirit when Holy Spirit came down (Acts 8: 14).  Why? Because Jesus did not promise that that they could automatically receive Holy Spirit when Holy Spirit came down even if they heard the word of God, believe in Jesus and Baptize in water but only His apostle will receive it. That is why when the apostle prayed for other believers who heard the word of God, believe in Jesus and baptized in water receive the Holy Spirit (acts 8: 14-16; 19: 1-7). Now in order for us to comply with all the words of God we must understand the above facts otherwise we are ignoring the words of God which are in John 14:16-17; Luke 24: 49, acts 8:14-16 and Act 19: 1-7. If we ignore the truth that the text tries to reveal to us then it means we are not complying with the all the words of God thus we could easily mislead others.
Now, look at this fact, John 14: 26, the text says that the spirit of the truth will teach us everything and we will not be confused. if we are not confused then why do we form many churches and worship the same God in many churches. Why didn’t we have same way of worship and same understand of all the bible text. God is not many thus we should form many churches on earth—we should be one and worship under one roof. All these means that there is something missing.
Look at Luke 12 verse 12 that says “Holy Spirit will teach you all that you should say”. Yes, but yet we have different interpretation of the bible and have many questions and some even confused and ask questions. If we all had receive the Holy Spirit then everting should come from Holy Spirits and we would not have many doubts and also ask many questions and sometimes confuse and we should not have many interpretations of the bible as we all should be on the same page and we should not form many churches to worship the same God. If Holy Spirit had taught us all that we should say then why are we not on the same page of interpretations and also worship the same God in one church. All things that we say and do indicated that something is missing.

The text about 1 Corinthians 12: 1-14 is all about the experiences of those who have receive Holy Spirit in the beginning and or when apostles preached and prayed for them and they received Holy Spirit. We cannot use the text in 1 Corinthians 12 verse 1-14 to says that we are same as they are. The reason being that Jesus only Promised His apostle’s that they could receive the Holy Spirit and not the rest of the people. This promise has been fulfilled when the apostles preached or prayed and Holy Spirit came down on those who heard the Good news, believed in Jesus Christ and Baptized in water. Holy Spirit never went to the people unnecessarily to those who heard the Good news, believe in Jesus and baptized in water to fulfill Jesus’ promise in John 14 verses 16-17.

Thank you and God bless.

Sorry we can indeed make the claim in Pentecostal churches if we do exactly the same as the first century church. Given that we do indeed operate the three voice gifts of the Holy spirit in our meetings in full accord with 1Corinthians 14 then obviously God is pleased to do exactly as He did in the beginning - God talking directly to His children; the saints; the body of Christ.

Acts 2:38  And Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized each of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39  For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him.

Since the emergence of Pentecostal faith out of the divine healing movement (1880s) the miraculous signs and wonders of the first church that we read of in our NT are once again available to those God is calling to.

John 14: 16-17 the promise God made to his apostles. This has been proven in acts 8, 19, 11 and 10.
John 14: 17 ”The Helper is the Spirit of truth. The people of the world cannot accept him, because they don’t see him or know him. But you know him. He lives with you, and he will be in you.”
This authority was not given to everyone on earth. This was given to the apostles only. Those who have the authority can continue on with the work. It is a work that Jesus gave them to do and that work happen when only the apostles preach and prayed.

There is no other medium that Holy Spirit came down on people. Where there is an apostles, the Holy Spirit came down so the promise can be fulfilled.

Thank you.

Simply not true - you are misreading scripture.

Pentecostal churches of today enjoy the same full gospel of salvation that we can read of in the NT - with the same signs, wonders and miracles - the same gifts of the Holy Spirit operating in the body of believers.

All confirmed by God himself.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
