pray for your wives and encourage her to draw closer to christ

Read what believers did and suffered because of there faith. They endured hardship, great persucution, death rejection, they overcame ridiculous odds which would seam impossible with unsaved men, but their faith and trust in God saw them through.

Hebrews 11 KJV
1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. 4By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. 5By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 7By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. 8By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10for he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 11Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. 12Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
13These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
17By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: 19accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. 20By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. 21By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff. 22By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones. 23By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment. 24By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; 25choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. 27By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. 28Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. 29By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned. 30By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days. 31By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
32And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: 33who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 36and others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38(of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

You've been infected and sick with COVID-19 twice, my friend. Your wife is understandably concerned for your health and welfare.

As for myself, because I work in a high-risk occupation (I work for a homeless shelter), I was tested weekly while the shelter was shut down due to an outbreak among staff and residents. Only myself and a coworker remained uninfected throughout the pandemic last year.

At the onset of the pandemic at the end of March last year, we lost staff due to the risk our occupation poses working for the homeless. It is an honor to be here and a privilege to serve my neighbor, so I take all necessary precautions for their sake. That's not paranoia, it's love. :)

In fact,  I have had every vanance of the virus.   I stop counting in double digits.

She is scared that she has passed the virus unto others.    I am tired of isolation.

At least I am allowed to do yard work and work in my garage in summer.

And, yes I have the current one, it is no different than a cold.

You're entitled to your opinion, my friend. The facts state otherwise.

I am 65 and had battled Cancer since 2003.   So, my system is not as strong as others.

It is known that people will build up protection against it.

Satan rules this world (1 John 5:19) - you have to take what you hear with a grain of salt.

I don't hear the CDC say a word about our immune systems, yet I can think of no better way to safe from the virus than to get the rest we need, get enough to eat, stay comfortably warm, and stay away from tobacco.

This was taken down from CDC sites.

"While getting #COVID19 may offer some natural protection or immunity, the risk of severe illness and death from COVID-19 far outweighs any benefits of natural immunity. "

Active immunity results when exposure to a disease organism triggers the immune system to produce antibodies to that disease. Exposure to the disease organism can occur through infection with the actual disease (resulting in natural immunity), or introduction of a killed or weakened form of the disease organism through vaccination (vaccine-induced immunity). Either way, if an immune person comes into contact with that disease in the future, their immune system will recognize it and immediately produce the antibodies needed to fight it.

Active immunity is long-lasting, and sometimes life-long."

Natural immunity versus vaccine immunity
Because some people with COVID-19 can have very mild symptoms, some may see natural infection as preferable to receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Some people may be concerned that getting a COVID-19 vaccine could make them sicker if they do get COVID-19.

I'm not arguing the wisdom of doing what we can to keep our bodies healthy. I'm just saying that it often is not enough - especially during a pandemic. Vaccination (as I know you've done) is the most effective way to avoid infection and illness.

I have been fully vaccinated and I still got it again.  Natural plus the shot may be the best.

My wife is feeling the stress of various situations.

My mentally handicapped brother living with us.

Work

blaming herself for others getting it.

Me out of work due to virus.  Granted, I could not earn much because I am handicapped.  But, it helps.

Her family fighting and throwing around the word divorce.

Ex in laws causing trouble -- I tell just don't answer their phone calls.  Let them figure it all out.  You are not their Mother or Father.  When they ask to talk to me, I just lay the phone down and continue reading.

She has asked us to be tested on a regular basis.

Not taking care of herself.

I was never tested for it but I suspect I have had it at least once before I was vaccinated. I had all of the signs. I didn't get the serious effects. I think I had the milder version of it. For over a month I had a deep chest cough. I don't smoke or work around any harmful things in the air. It eventually went away but it seemed to hang on forever. I never wanted to be tested. I always reasoned that if I get it and it's bad I'll know, if I got over it I don't need to know. In either case I'm further immunized from a future infection.

I also got the vaccine. No big deal. Two times in and out.

For me there's no point in being tested. If I had it there's no way I can prevent my wife getting it. It would take a miracle for her not to get it. Depending on the line of thinking the more often you get it the better off you eventually are.

Life is entirely  a risk. There are probably 1000 other things that can get you besides COVID. There will be many perfectly healthy immune people die of something every year.

I blame the media for a lot of the continual pounding on this day in and day out working people into fear. No wonder people can't get on with life. I do what I can and take the rest with a grain of salt.

I think the vaccine is important, but "natural" immunity can vary, according to how well we take care of ourselves.

As @one.opinion knows, immunity is neither absolute nor is it simple to understand. One's immune system can in some cases prove to be fatal; immune responses are partially responsible for what we experience as bodily illness.

Hence immunosuppressant drugs were found to increase the odds of survival for some patients with severe COVID-19. They were not effective in mild to moderate cases.

I'm of the opinion that genetics assumes an oversized role in the immune system response of individuals. As I've written previously, neither myself nor my younger sibling have been infected with this virus. This, in spite of extensive contact with positive individuals, some of whom were sick.

What do both of us share in common? Not diet, because we both eat different things; not exercise, because we both lead different lifestyles. Here's what we share in common:

  • Exposure, because we both work in high-risk occupations
  • The same parents and a shared childhood
  • Genes

During the pandemic last year, researchers stumbled upon people whom they call "super controllers," individuals whose immune response efficiently destroyed invading virions thus preventing the replication of viruses in their cells. It has since been discovered there are super controllers for HIV... the various types of influenza... and the SARS-CoV-2 virus, for example. Some cross-over between different lineages of viruses can and does happen.

Like the flu. Decades before the flu vaccines, I was never stricken by the flu. Neither was my younger sister.  Hence my belief that "immunity" is largely impacted by genetic code.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
