Christians are indwelled by the Holy Spirit and so can NOT also be possessed by a demon, for Christ has paid for us, by his blood. Scripture has given us a very brief glimpse of angels and demons.

 God has chosen to not reveal more in this regard, for we are to fix our eyes on Jesus.  There seems to be these days too much attention focused on angels and demons. People who become preoccupied with angels and demons usually wind up wandering from sound doctrine.

Let God, deal with the unseen spiritual realm.  Our job is to keep our eyes focused on Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith and share the gospel message with others.

1 John 4:4
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

Hebrews 12:2
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 Corinthians 6:19
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

Yeah not decisive.  There is no doubt that  1/3 of the angels fell....but that does not make them demons

Many New Christians and seekers frequent these forums. It behooves us to study and only give out information we are sure about.

Demons are demons and are the residual of dead Nephilim giants of Noah's day. Fallen 'angels' as referred to in Peter and Jude are some of the heavenly beings that mated with women (Gen 6). Principalities and powers are those that God set over the nations after Babel and are territorial spirits that wish to control thrones and nations (Deut 32). The apostle to the nations told the ones he visited that the pantheons were no longer under the legitimate rule of the 'sons of God' originally put over them. The Father rescinded their authority as they were a dismal failure (Psalm 82).

The Cross has annulled the powers of ALL of these 'gods' and has allowed the Lord and His Spirit to free those captives of the many pantheons. That is why the various man made ideas such as pre-mil and Darby's nonsense seek to explain away the Lords Power. They do not want believers to know they have Yeshua's Power RIGHT NOW at their fingertips.

Yeshua has LEGITIMATE Power and Authority over ALL the cosmos and that includes ALL Principalities and Powers everywhere!!

Hebrews 12:22

Revelation 12:3-9

That passage from Hebrews touches upon the Divine Council which gathers upon the mount of assembly (Zion), presenting themselves before the Lord. The Lord God presides over all for He is Almighty. These are the stars of heaven, Watchers and holy ones of God, that great cloud of witnesses.

The passage from Revelation speaks of stars of heaven, a prophetic euphemism for a Watcher, a holy one of God, or the sons of God if one prefers.

Authorities, powers, rulers (archons) of spiritual wickedness and darkness in the heavenly places. Refer to Ephesians chapter six,

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12 NKJV)

The Lord declared His judgment against the wicked archons in the verses of Psalm 82:

God stands in the congregation of the mighty;
He judges among the gods.
How long will you judge unjustly,
And show partiality to the wicked? Selah
Defend the poor and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and needy.
Deliver the poor and needy;
Free them from the hand of the wicked.

They do not know, nor do they understand;
They walk about in darkness;
All the foundations of the earth are unstable.

I said, “You are gods,
And all of you are children of the Most High.
But you shall die like men,
And fall like one of the princes.”

Arise, O God, judge the earth;
For You shall inherit all nations.

(Psalm 82 NKJV)

These are not unclean, lying spirits. The rulers are mighty as we learn in the 10th chapter of Daniel; the son of God sent to Daniel testified how the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood him 21 days. The intervention of Michael, one of the chief princes, was necessary for the messenger to reach Daniel according to his prayers and supplications before the Lord.

Amen, brother. The works and authority of the wicked ones (gods) were undone when the Lord was slain and rose from death, ascending to sit with our Father upon His throne. As the scriptures testify we are to be like Him so therefore, our Lord has given His holy ones (saints) authority over these powers of darkness and wickedness, authority only the Lord God Almighty can grant.

They are bound with their conspirator, he who weakened the nations (Isaiah 14). How he has fallen! Indeed, the Lord beheld the adversary fall like lightning (Luke 10:18).

Because I have not found any scripture that definitively says what they are, I will not speculate. If God wanted us to know that detail , He would have told us

All I can find on the subject again Is Jude 6

6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day

Which seems to infer that the fallen angles were "locked up"

I am willing to accept your premise. But I need scripture

I am going with this River. You need to put your cursor over the areas that are dark.

Demons are fallen angels, as Revelation 12:9 indicates: “The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.” Satan’s fall from heaven is symbolically described in Isaiah 14:12–15 and Ezekiel 28:12–15. When he fell, Satan took some of the angels with him—one third of them, according to Revelation 12:4. Jude 6 also mentions angels who sinned. So, biblically, demons are fallen angels who, along with Satan, chose to rebel against God.

Some of the demons are already locked “in darkness, bound with everlasting chains” (Jude 1:6) for their sin. Others are free to roam and are referred to as “the powers of this dark world and . . . the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” in Ephesians 6:12 (cf. Colossians 2:15). The demons still follow Satan as their leader and do battle with the holy angels in an attempt to thwart God’s plan and hinder God’s people (Daniel 10:13).

Demons, as spirit beings, have the ability to take possession of a physical body. Demonic possession occurs when a person’s body is completely controlled by a demon. This cannot happen to a child of God, since the Holy Spirit resides in the heart of the believer in Christ (1 John 4:4).

Jesus, during His earthly ministry, encountered many demons. Of course, none of them were a match for the power of Christ: “Many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word” (Matthew 8:16). Jesus’ authority over the demons was one of the proofs that He was indeed the Son of God (Luke 11:20). The demons who encountered Jesus knew who He was, and they feared Him: “‘What do you want with us, Son of God?’ [the demons] shouted. ‘Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?’” (Matthew 8:29). The demons know their end will be one of torment.

Satan and his demons now look to destroy the work of God and deceive anyone they can (1 Peter 5:8; 2 Corinthians 11:14–15). The demons are described as evil spirits (Matthew 10:1), unclean spirits (Mark 1:27), lying spirits (1 Kings 22:23), and angels of Satan (Revelation 12:9). Satan and his demons deceive the world (2 Corinthians 4:4), promulgate false doctrine (1 Timothy 4:1), attack Christians (2 Corinthians 12:7; 1 Peter 5:8), and combat the holy angels (Revelation 12:4–9).

The demons/fallen angels are enemies of God, but they are defeated enemies. Christ has “disarmed the powers and authorities,” and He has “made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” (Colossians 2:15). As we submit to God and resist the devil, we have nothing to fear. “The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

Well this is where it all breaks down for me.  Jude 6 Does not say "SOME" of the Angels who fell. It says The angels that "fell" are bound.

You can believe what you like of course, but all of that is man's opinion trying to construct a reality from a scattering of scriptures. But who ever that is taking liberties....adding assumptions that are not given  as in "Some"

If there is no actual scripture declaratively that demons are fallen angels, and there is a scripture declaratively stating that the angels who fell are bound up......I have to gowith that

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
