Actually I think using a tragedy like Katrina to try to convince folks the "YOU" are so annointed that GOD is speaking directly about this event to you is pretty SORRY and SADISTIC.

Why don't you HOLY Prophets come down here to the Houston Astrodome and spew out your poison to the poor recipients of "God's Punishment". Get a bullhorn and yell it out. Your right, I'm low and I don't have many good qualities but I believe your full of it and phony. How dare you spit out this junk! I can't stand it when people feel lead to go around saying "Well..the Lord told me this and that". "See, I'm special, I'm the chosen one to bring the message of gloom and doom". "You had better listen to me because I got a special dial-up to the Lord"

So are you saying God doesn't reveal things to certain people? Were all the OT prophets full of it? The pucky is hitting the fan. Scripture has told us this was going to happen. I recommend you stop being so cranky and get yourself prepared.

The LORD God's revelation to mankind is complete in the book we refer to as the Holy Bible-no further revelation is being given today, despite any claims to the contrary. Statements such as the above, or something similar such as  "the LORD spoke to me and said

Oh!!!!wait a minute. Hey! I just got a word from God! He told be that its gonna snow in Canada this winter. So Ger...what did he reveal to you? Any fool can see that we live in a fallen shaky world but that dosen't mean that EVERYTIME one of these things happens it is a specific sign from God. They have been happening for 6000 years. Still, everytime it happens, someone finds it in their heart to hi-jack it for their own agenda. On an earlier post, some on quoted a Rabbi that suggested that this horific event was a direct result of a policy in Gaza. I'm sure Mullas are saying "see Allah is punishing the "Great Satan". Enviromentalists are saying if only we stopped Global Warming. And on and on it goes. This is all a bunch of BULL (you know the rest)!The Bible teaches us to keep a sober mind. Everytime something happens its a "Sign of the End". I'm sorry, but the birth pains the Bible speaks of in the End Times will make even this look like a walk in the park. This event is well within the range of natural occurances. Actually, its long overdue. It was a city under sea level in a hurricane zone? Suprize!!!!!

Sodom and Gomorah....lots of pain and suffering there.....due to the direct result of God's wrath following His judgement against those cities. If God is the same yesterday, today and tommorow, then His wrath and judgement is the same...yesterday, today and tommorow. God is not a touchy feely all peace loving God like the liberals would like to make believe. That's a god created in the image of man. No in fact, Christ says that He came to seperate us...He is a divider...His word is a sword....a salt in the wound....in order for us to be comforted....we must first have salt/peroxide poured into our wounds...which will burn at first. God is a just God. God is the creator...and the destroyer. He is the beginning and the end. He gives and He takes away.

I agree with you that these people do not need to be beat over the head. Instead they need to be shown the love of Christ. But love....true unconditional love means that there are seasons of pain. I love my child....but I will punish him for doing something bad...despite the pain that punshing him brings both to him and myself. I do that out of love because I don't want him to be sitting in a jail cell at age 25 addicted to crack cocaine. Expecting God to love us but not punish us is an unrealistic expectation.

I never said I was any better than anyone from New Orleans or anywhere else on this planet. In fact, I believe that God is the great equalizer....He most definetly equalized New Orleans. There is no racial differences now...there is no status quo. Everyone from New Orleans has suffered directly from this event and everyone outside of the devistation suffers indirectly from this event.

The message....that God has been trying to get through our thick skulls since man fell in the garden is that we are all in the same boat. That boat is taking us to our ultimate death and it is up to us to have enough faith to keep our eyes focused on Christ and step out of that boat onto the crashing waves.

God is not a respector of persons. He will choose to reveal things to anyone willing and ready. He will also reveal things to who He chooses. Just because Moses stood on a mountain and interacted directly with God does not make him holier than anyone that was at the bottom of the mount....no instead, he smashed the commandments out of anger.

There is only one who is holier than you, me or any pope, apostle, disciple, saint, crack addict and that is Jesus Christ. For the rest of us....we are all but filthy wrags capable of nothing without Christ.

Total and complete devistation...in an area the size of Great Brittian. The likes of which...people keep going further and further back in time to compare it to anything else that we have any kind of accurate statistics on....last I heard it was the San Francisco fire of 1800 and something....but I think even that fails in comparison. I guess if the western half of the country falls off the face of the earth, someone will still say it's only a natural event...that the san andreas fault has always been there and we should have expected Arizona to become beach front property.
