It is a human instinct. But we are to allow God to judge rightly and pour out His divine retribution against His enemies as He sees fit. There are two times in the Bible when God gives men permission to avenge in His name Numbers 31:1-2 and 1 Peter 2:13-14. It is tempting to try to take on the role of God and seek punishment to those who we feel deserve it. Because we are sinful creatures, it is impossible for us to take revenge with a pure motive. Proverbs 20:22 Do not say, “I will repay evil”; wait for the Lord, and he will deliver you. Yes. And malevolent.
Guest
No. Not in the least. The people I have on my Ignore List deserve to be ignored. Edited January 1, 2022 by Saved.One.by.Grace

No, it is giving us a peace of mind. But you should not do it casually.

I am not like I was when I was young and the Lord has promised to forget about that time period in my life. He knows I'd take it back if I could so we don't talk about it any more. There is not reason for us to be in that frame of mind these days for there are much more important things to deal with. It's good to tell someone if they have hurt you but getting even is not our job description if we are born again.
