As humans we want to get back to those who have hurt us. It is a human instinct.

But we are to allow God to judge rightly and pour out His divine retribution against

His enemies as He sees fit.

There are two times in the Bible when God gives men permission to avenge in His name

Numbers 31:1-2 and 1 Peter 2:13-14.

It is tempting to try to take on the role of God and seek punishment to those who we feel

deserve it. Because we are sinful creatures, it is impossible for us to take revenge

with a pure motive.

Proverbs 20:22

Do not say, “I will repay evil”; wait for the Lord, and he will deliver you.

Yes. And malevolent.

No.  Not in the least.  The people I have on my Ignore List deserve to be ignored.

I always try to remember the Lord’s Prayer as Jesus himself said this is how we should pray

sadly I have to go to work so I can’t unpack the whole thing but I will unpack

and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone indebted to us

forgiveness is so important to God, if we pray to him with vindictive or malice in our hearts it will fall on deaf ears,  as he talks about not coming to offer offerings until you reconcile or try your best with the person you are mad at first

Its a hard pill to swallow, I have been there I know as you do how hard it can be, I wear a shirt with the slogan

” forgiveness doesn’t change the past but it can change the future”

remember the parable of the debtor

Matthew 18:21-35

remember we are not deserving of the Forgiveness he has shown us as we have all sinned at some point in our own lives

He has high expectations of us as his children to do the same for others and it’s tough, but I pray for those that have hurt me, it doesn’t repair the relationships but it’s an effort on my part that sets us apart from worldly people, we are after all set apart to not be of the world even though we live in the world 🌎

Forgivness is a big part of our walk

i wish I had more time but work is calling 😔

Have a great weekend family🥰

Is consigning members to our Ignore Lists being vindictive?

No, it is giving us a peace of mind. But you should not do it casually.

I think the ignore list can be useful I choose not to use it myself but if a person is bothering you to the point of anger it’s best to distance yourself

there may or may not be members I see as having a confusing spirit that always try to be a stumbling block but I don’t ignore them I just choose to not respond to them anymore, I can’t let them be a stumbling block so I pray for them and move on, I don’t have vindictive thoughts about them as they may not even be aware of what they are doing so I love from a distance, but I agree with missmuffet ( and love her avatar) the ignore button should be used with discretion because in real life when we run into trouble we can’t hit that ignore button

we must stand strong in our beliefs and pray then move on 🥰

I'n my 74 years I have learned that if their is any vengeance that needs to be attended to, God himself does a much better job of doing it.   I am not like I was when I was young and the Lord has promised to forget about that time period in my life.  He knows I'd take it back if I could so we don't talk about it any more.

There is not reason for us to be in that frame of mind these days for there are much more important things to deal with.  It's good to tell someone if they have hurt you but getting even is not our job description if we are born again.

There is enough grief in our world today without having to deal with a person who is attacking you on a Christian message board.

Jesus told the disciples I send you out as sheep among wolves therefore be wise as serpents but harmless as doves     Matt 10:16

If it be possible as much as lieth in you live peaceably with all men.

Rom 12:18.

This is often a tough call. Pride comes as a testing of our faith.

Started with Lucifer...   seems to have been passed down to us.   Maybe we are here to learn to deal with it.

I don't ignore people but have placed many topics on ignore. I'm not vindictive (i.e. I don't seek revenge or justice) but I am judgemental. That's been my stumbling block and I am ever working to repair it.
