If we are filled with the spirit we don't walk according to the flesh. This doesn't mean the spirit leaves us when we sin, it means we allowed the flesh to take over...and unfortunately that happens quite often with christians.

Being 'filled' with can mean to be totally controlled by or it can mean we 'have' the spirit. Having is far different than totally controlled by. Different denominations describe this in different ways.

From my experience, it's a daily battle we fight. When we are saved we receive the Holy Spirit, yet we can choose to not follow the Holy Spirit.

Some might say we can loose the spirit. I imagine right after Moses murdered the Egyptian he didn't feel much of the spirit.

King David committed adultery and had the husband killed.

His sin was knawing away at him. This is what the Spirit does.

Psalms 32:3-4

For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away

through my groaning all day long.

 4  For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;

my strength was dried up  as by the heat of summer. Selah

Psalm 51 1-10 records his confession. The Spirit stands by to renew us if we confess our sins God is faithful to forgive us our sins and to restore us. Having a wrong spirit is in conflict with the spirit that lives withing us if we are believers.

Verse 10-

Create in me a clean heart, O God,

and renew a right spirit within me.

Starise, I got confused, no, I am not always Spirit filled, what I meant was, the Holy Spirit indwells me and will never leave.........when I had that tantrum my spirit was very low.its at peace now with the Lord..your last  post showed me I was confused and  in error..so, thanks for posting that,👍

I wasn't trying to put anyone on the spot and I hope I didn't make this more complicated.

I guess my main thoughts on it were that sometimes a young christian is still in the 'honeymoon stage' of their salvation in thinking that now everything is going to be all right. What could possibly go wrong now? Me and Jesus are winging it to heaven.

While I would never trade my relationship with Christ for anything, we still have our days down here that we would rather forget.

I am highly skeptical of those who go around telling the world how spirit filled they are and how they seem to have finally arrived. It would be interesting to follow one of them around for 24 hours. ;)

Not really because you noticed I put the word Christian in perenthesis so I am taking note of that word. The word Christian has lost its significance today. God knows who are truly His.

And if I could become invisible and follow you for one week. Would I have hard evidence that you are a born again Christian?

Let me know when you become invisible and then I'll answer the rest :D

What some forget is the heavenly host is always watching us down here and we will answer for all of it. You would have evidence I am a christian. Just wear ear plugs when I'm driving the car to work.

That is a really good question to one and all....certainly spoke to me missmuffet..I understood every word of it....thank you for posting,🙏

Does everything you do glorify God? That is another good question we should ask. Although we are not perfect and we are sinners.

Do all "Christians" have the Holy Spirit? How do you know that you are indwelt with the Holy Spirit?

Tis a great question. Now what I believe... me.   Its clear to me we look at this treat this all different today then they did back then. We know when Christ talked to them and told them  to wait.. they were all saved. All filled with the holy spirit already? That is not written "for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Wait.. Christ already risen.. they believed in Him so all were saved yet Christ is going to fill them again? Give them what they already have?

Christ did what He said in Luke 11 13.  So for me you can be saved PRAISE GOD yet not be filled with the sweet holy Spirit. Asking for the Holy Spirit Luke 11 13.. for me I am not asking for tongues. That just lol came all by itself.. I didn't do anything. The day before I asked for the holy Spirit I was saved yet after I asked? WOW like night and day! I did John 3:16-17. So since GOD through Jesus said He will give the holy Spirit to them that ask.. Yeah I could careless what any man says about that verse. GOD said it.. So I just did what He said. Oh then to read "have you received the holy Spirit since you believed".. that says it all.

What do we think GODS going to do when we ask just as He said in Luke 11 13.. just what will He give you?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
