The lord Jesus said the five unwise virgins took no oil with there lamps. But he also said the five wise virgins took a bottle of oil with there lamps.  Then they waited for the lord to come and slumber. The cry came to meet the lord. They all trim there lamps. But the unwise virgins did not have enough oil in there lamps. The wise went to meet the lord but the unwise went to buy oil for there lamps. As I see it the lamps are our bodies and life. The oil is the holy spirit which gives us light and life. When we have the holy spirit and are fill with the spirit we have a relationship with the lord and he knows us. Without the holy spirit we do not belong to him and have no relationship. We need to be filled everyday with the holy spirit.

Well said. May I expand a bit for it is one of the grand parables of the Kingdom. You will notice that it starts with; "1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins ... ." So we must define the Kingdom of Heaven since the parables teaches us on this. From Genesis 1:26-28, through the Covenant with Abraham, through Psalm 8, Daniel 2, Hebrews 2 and Luke 19:17-19 to Revelation 22:4-5, the Lord never changed His plan. Man was made to subdue and rule the EARTH. But heaven is God's THRONE, so the rule must be of a heavenly type. Our Lord Jesus prays "Thy (God's) kingdom COME (to earth), Thy (God's) will be done ON EARTH as it is in heaven". Thus, it is "The Kingdom (out) OF Heaven" - NOT the "Kingdom IN heaven".

Now, we know from John 3:3-6 that anyone who wants to ENTER this Kingdom must be born again. And John 3:6 says that which is born by the Holy Spirit is the human spirit. Thus, we learn that; "The spirit of man is the LAMP of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly" (Pr 20:27). That is, all ten virgins had their LAMPS - the spirits burning and with oil. They were all born again. And we not further that;

  1. They were all Virgins, a term to describe Christians in the New Testament (2nd Cor.11:2)
  2. They all went forth to meet the Bridegroom before they slept
  3. They all heard the "shout" to go out to meet Him (1st Thess.4:16)
  4. They all arose at the same time - at the coming of the Bridegroom (1st Cor.15:23)
  5. They all trimmed their Lamps - that is, they were keen to be perfectly lit for the bridegroom

That is, all ten were born again Christians, whose had oil in the their spirits, who all fell asleep when the Lord delayed His Coming, and were woken at the same time - His Coming. In SIX points they were the same. In only ONE point were they different. That point was; "THEY THOUGHT THE OIL IN THEIR VESSELS (not their Lamps) WAS FOR FREE".

Five of them thought the extra oil, NOT in their spirits, but in their VESSELS, WAS FOR FREE! They are called "foolish" for not BUYING extra oil. They did not perceive that rebirth - when your Lamp is set on fire by the Holy Spirit is for FREE and by FAITH, but to ENTER THE KINGDOM that Christ will set up ON EARTH, must be EARNED! And so it is with nearly every parable on the kingdom. Being born again and saved from the Lake of Fire is one thing, and its is through faith and that is free. But to qualify to be a co-king with Christ over the earth must be EARNED - must be gained by a PRICE.

And then the question must be asked, HOW COME THEY DID NOT KNOW THIS??? the answer is as you say; They did not have a relationship with their Bridegroom! They were a Fiancé who did not lie in their beloved Bridegroom's Bosom and TALK to Him! They were so busy with other things that they never got to know their Lover. So even when they returned to the Wedding Feast WITH the required oil, He says; "I KNOW YOU NOT"! Does Jesus the bridegroom not know all things? Of course He does! He knows everyone intellectually, but the meaning of "know" in the Greek means He didn't "know them by sight".

Being saved from your sins and being born again is one thing. But being qualified to ATTAIN to the Kingdom and being a co-king with Christ is another. You have to pay a price. You have to "sell all" for the kingdom (Matt.13). You have to lose your soul-life and deny your flesh. You have to be violent with your love for money. You must love the Lord above all things because that is the only way given in the whole Bible to be OBEDIENT.

Salvation is for free - BUT ... we are saved for something. Be sure we all are not locked out of the Kingdom.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
