What is your position when someone reprimand you? Do you get thankful with the person or you take a hold against them?

•    Pro 17:26 -> “To impose a fine on a righteous man is not good, nor to strike the noble for their uprightness.”.

It is unthinkable the idea of someone being punished in virtue of their uprightness. Nonetheless, this came about Amos:

•    Amo 7:10,11 -> “Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words. For thus Amos has said, “‘Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel must go into exile away from his land.’” “.

Amaziah gossiped about Amos to Jeroboam and, certainly, this worked because, next, he threatened Amos:

•    Amo 7:12,13 -> “And Amaziah said to Amos, “O seer, go, flee away to the land of Judah, and eat bread there, and prophesy there, but never again prophesy at Bethel, for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is a temple of the kingdom.” “.

In virtue of it, this was the sentence of the Creator against Amaziah:

•    Amo 7:16,17 -> “Now therefore hear the word of the LORD. “You say, ‘Do not prophesy against Israel, and do not preach against the house of Isaac.’ Therefore thus says the LORD: “‘Your wife shall be a prostitute in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided up with a measuring line; you yourself shall die in an unclean land, and Israel shall surely go into exile away from its land.’”.

As you can see, even when people intimidate us, we can’t give in on the truth and honesty.

And, if it is the opposite, we can’t hatred or punish someone because they don’t give in on our bad demeanor.

On the contrary: what we ought to do is to repent and convert:

•    Lev 26:41,43 -> “so that I walked contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies—if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled and they make amends for their iniquity, but the land shall be abandoned by them and enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them, and they shall make amends for their iniquity, because they spurned my rules and their soul abhorred my statutes. 

After all, it is better to be scolded here by Jesus so that we can partake of His holiness than go to hell (Heb 12:11).

So, have a good day acting as a wisdom: loving those who rebuke you (Prov 9:8).

As someone who does not engage with people on this or any forum I've seen you posting on, you are the worst person to ask this question.

 

Respond to peoples replies to your posts instead of sulking because people don't agre with you.

This is a great question. Which is actually many questions...

1. When the person reprimanding you is correct.

2. When the person reprimanding you is wrong.

3. When the person reprimanding you is speaking about matters of faith and doctrine.

4. When the person reprimanding you is speaking about matters of mankind, such as your boss.

There is no one size fits all answer.

If it comes to matters of faith, we should view everything through the lens of the bible. If you are secure about your beliefs, you should state your case and then agree to disagree and move on as quickly as possible.

When it comes to matters of the job, I have rarely found it beneficial to correct my boss. OK, let met restate that...I have never found it beneficial to correct my boss. It doesn't matter how big a fool he is making of himself, pointing out his mistake is a far greater offense than anything you are likely to be accused of. That said, if the offense is something major, such as theft, then you have no choice but to defend yourself.

There is a humble way to respond to someone who reprimands you. You need to take a serious look at what the person says and not get on the defense or get mad. Is the person correct? You need to take a good hard look at yourself and pray about it.
