Can a follower of Christ be police officer or judge? (Part 2)

But, why not?

One of the reasons can be seen below:

•    Rom 2:1 -> “Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.”.

When someone is punishing the other, he is being an evildoer too. And Peter made it clear:

•    1Pe 3:9-12 -> “Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” “.

Paul too:

•    Col 3:25 -> “For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.”.

Not to mention Jesus:

•    Mat 26:52 -> “Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword.”

Perhaps you are questioning: “but the evil needs to be reprobated, combatted. Otherwise, the evil will spread”. And will we do evil in order to produce something good? If to come the good is necessary to use the arms of condemnation and death (as it was in the Old Testament – 2Cor 3:7-9), so all that Christ did in the cross was in vain, including His outcry:

•    Luk 23:34 -> “And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.”.

Besides, see what Paul said about bringing the good through the use of evil:

•    Rom 3:8 -> “And why not do evil that good may come?—as some people slanderously charge us with saying. Their condemnation is just.”.

And what about us? What should we do? Tomorrow we will answer this. For the time being, have a good day in the job that delights Jesus.

Indeed. The monologue continues. What amazes me is that he continues to post these huge long posts sharing his view, expecting people to read it, and doesnt even have the courtesy to read and reply to those who actually took the time to read and respond to said monologues.

I mean correct me if im wrong...but wernt forums designed for discussion? If one doesnt want discussion they can create a blog.

When he first came back after being absent for a few years, I ask him why he does not reply.  I never received an answer so I know his focus was on his message and not any form of a discussion.  Now and then you will see a reply, but that is rare.

I can remember a time when teaching was only allowed by those in ministry, which still allowed for other views to be presented and discussed, but it seems anyone with bad theologies , and who fancies themselves a teacher, can come and spew their theology as much as they want.  When George first allowed such threads it was with the idea that those who posted bad theology would be corrected by those with good theology, but all this has allowed is more arguments and hardening of hearts because not only do you use scripture to disprove their ideas, but by doing so, you hurt their pride and the walls go up and the arrows start to fly.  Time to rethink how this should be handled.

I agree. These posts are more akin to spam/trolling then they do anything edifying.

I do question whether podiatrists and proctologists can be followers of Christ.

Cake decorators and truck drivers might slide in there by a close margin.;)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
