Charles Spurgeon

https://archive.spurgeon.org/misc/eschat2.php

Quote

(The Treasury of David and Matthew: The Gospel of the Kingdom) and his other writings reveal that he consistently and clearly not only affirmed a historic or covenantal premillennial position; he also rejected the salient tenets of the amillennial, postmillennial and dispensational premillennial schemes.

Another quote ...

Quote

This it will be observed that all Israel's hopes were based on the four determinative covenants [Abrahamic, Davidic, Palestinian and New] which God made with them, that these covenants confirmed certain national hopes and blessings and necessitate the preservation, continuity, and restoration of the nation if they are to be fulfilled literally.[26]

... and this

Quote

.I think we do not attach sufficient importance to the restoration of the Jews. We do not think enough about it. But certainly, if there is anything promised in the Bible it is this. I imagine that you cannot read the Bible without seeing clearly that there is to be an actual restoration of the Children of Israel . . . For when the Jews are restored, the fullness of the Gentiles shall be gathered in; and as soon as they return, then Jesus will come upon Mount Zion with his ancients gloriously, and the halcyon days of the millennium shall then dawn; we shall then know every man to be a brother and a friend; Christ shall rule with universal sway.

I think you better study what Spurgeon actually taught!

Polycarp

Quote

The eastern Church, where Polycarp ministered, continued the Apostolic tradition of celebrating the Feasts of Israel and the Sabbath. It is not that these were mandated, but simply revered.

So great was the eastern Church’s respect for the Feasts of Israel and the Sabbath that they actually accepted excommunication from what was rapidly becoming the recognized world Catholic Church - the one Church, because the Romanized version of the Catholic Church not only revered Sunday, as the day of Christ’s resurrection, but actually required the Church to turn away from everything Jewish, including the Sabbath and Feasts, and required Sunday attendance for the gathering of the saints.

You better study up on what Polycarp actually taught!  Attached file on Polycarp!

Eusebius

Eusebius was instrumental in the rise of the Catholic church (Constantine and the Christian Empire) and the council of Nicaea  ... which led to the DARK AGES and the times of the. inquisition whereby millions of true believers were slaughtered for their faith.

Not without first acknowledging it all happens while he is enthroned in heaven.

HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO stop, and state the basics again in the middle of a thought?  WHY the need to bring it up now?  TO BE RIGHT?

Who in the thread is presumed to have just forgotten the omniscience of GOD and so it needs to be brought up again?  Who is presumed to not always heed that very knowledge?  Why is it we have to be reminded of it whenever FACTS go against  certain someones doctrines?

OK, YES, ALL THE BIBLE TAKES PLACE FROM THE ETERNAL ASPECT OF THE ETERNAL KNOWING and being in charge and being from the beginning and being seated and being in control and....................................................................................... ............................etc infinity.

Now can we get back to the discussion at hand.

Those are serious question asked out of a sincere desire to know and understand your views. I was accused of not understanding from your point of view. Here's your opportunity.

Spurgeon taught on the Kingdom.  :)

Quote

"If I read the word aright, and it is honest to admit that there is much room for difference of opinion here, the day will come, when the Lord Jesus will descend from heaven with a shout, with the trump of the archangel and the voice of God. Some think that this descent of the Lord will be post-millennial  that is, after the thousand years of his reign. I cannot think so. I conceive that the advent will be PRE-millennial  that he will come first; and then will come the millennium as the result of his personal reign upon earth. But whether or no, this much is the fact, that Christ will suddenly come, come to reign, and come to judge the earth in righteousness." [from Justification & Glory MTP Vol 11, Year 1865, pg. 249, Romans 8:30

Another ....

Quote

"We are to expect the literal advent of Jesus Christ, for he himself by his angel told us, 'This same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven,' which must mean literally and in person. We expect a reigning Christ on earth; that seems to us to be very plain, and to be put so literally that we dare not spiritualise it. We anticipate a first and a second resurrection; a first resurrection of the righteous, and a second resurrection of the ungodly, who shall be judged, condemned, and punished for ever by the sentence of the great King." [from Things to Come MTP Vol 15, Year 1869, pg. 329, 1 Corinthians 3:22

@Josheb Do you disagree with Spurgeon's assessment?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
