You say we choose our own path. We have the ability to do good or bad.

Judas didn't have that choice. Christ chose him just as He chose the other disciples. They were all sinners. What made Judas different?

Once Christ chose Judas, his fate was sealed. Whether he believed or not, he was still chosen to be the one to betray Christ.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Christ chose Judas because He knew the state of his heart. Judas was a bad apple so he was the perfect man for the job.

That's my point. He didn't choose, he was chosen.

I posted the scripture. So you want to ignore the scripture in favor of old fairy tales instead of the scriptures?

12 "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!

13 For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north;

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.'

15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit.

16 "Those who see you will gaze at you, And consider you, saying: 'Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms,

Well, Paul states that Adam was the first man [ 1 Corinthians 15:45 ] - and the Genesis account also states that Adam was the first man created. I hardly think recorded scripture is an "old fairy tale" as you put it. You are taking a verse out of context to support your belief that Lucifer was a man- he's a created being, yes...but not a man. Lucifer was not created in the image of God as we are- he's hardly a man; rather a fallen angel.

God bless,

Tim

See Tim...your last sentence is what I struggle with.

1. We are taught to be Christ-like but if what you say is true, God is all about himself. His glory. "Its all about him'' as you say. If we were to be like that, we would be labeled as selfish and narcassistic instead of Christ-like.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Hey Dan :taped:

Let me ask- why shouldn't it be all about Him ? Why should it be about us ? The only thing we deserve is death and hell. Yet Christ regarded our helpless state, had compassion on us ( when He didn't have to ) and gave up His life for ours. And for that, I'm eternally grateful to Him for it; and I'm more than happy to surrender my everything to Him. He deserves it to be all about Him- for He alone is worthy

2. He knew we would fall and many go to an ever lasting hell that he created. Yet, the reason we are told that we were created was for HIS pleasure. Seems a bit selfish to allow or risk that so you can have pleasure .

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'll just answer that one with scripture- you'll see it's not selfish at all  You need to bear in mind that God has the right to do with His creation as He sees fit...

Romans 9:19-21

19 One of you will say to me: "Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?"

20 But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?'

21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?

We are NO position to demand anything- we were in debt to God- we couldn't pay the debt so Jesus paid it for us...so we are now indebted to Him. He deserves ALL the glory, honour and praise- as I stated, it's all about Him :emot-hug:

3. Finally, I'm not calling God a narcassist, sadistic or selfish. I can even except that it is merely one of those things that can't be explained. But I would think any mind that has givin this matter much thought would have these questions run through it. In truth, I have never heard a very good answer to these questions but I still want to be connected to God inspite of my ignorance of the matter.

I am not trying to dis God. Just trying to share trythful thoughts and believe me, I am desperately looking for solid reasonable answers.

I hope I can be forgivin for these thoughts. But God knows my thoughts anyway so why lie?

Dan

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Well, I'm glad you have an open mind about it and admit you have areas you don't understand ( as we all do! ). I hope I've made a little sense here about why I believe our focus should be off us and onto Jesus ? I've done nothing to deserve that price Jesus paid- and yet He still wants to call me His friend :taped: There's no greater love than Him :)

God bless you,

Tim

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
