Yes, our secret to success is God's grace as well.  We have added a high school to our school and 10 portable buildings.  A new sanctuary is being built so that the gym we now meet in can be turned over to the school.  No one asks for or talks about money.  God provides our needs.  We still have 4 services on Sunday and a Wednesday sermon, prayer requests, questions and answers.  The sermons are still based on a book of the Bible, word upon word, precept upon precept.   We are not packed in as tightly as we once were but allow for more space between rows.  So there may not be as many in attendance, but we are still adding many by baptism, mostly adult men.  What we lack in committees is made up for by individual members reaching out to others in the community as the Lord leads them.  We celebrate the goodness of God.

Thanks for sharing about your church. I firmly believe that all of us in our generations have our "Ester" callings where we are placed in our churches and communities for 'Such a time as this' assignments from the Lord.

Don't get discouraged in well doing . . .  it is like the illustration (not sure where I heard this) about a boy who was on the beach one day and saw that there were thousands of star fish washed up on the beach after a bad storm. He started picking them up and throwing them back into the sea so they could live. After a while a man who was watching him said 'What difference can you make because there are so many star fishes to help, you can not possibly get to all of them before they die'.  The boy just kept picking up the star fishes and throwing them back into the sea . . . after a while the man said 'Didn't you hear me? What difference can that make among so many that will die?'

The boy said to him as he threw a fish back into the sea . . . "It made a difference to that one" . . .

I am saddened by the number of people experiencing bad things (or what they perceive are bad, when trying to judge leadership's motives) in churches. My heart goes out to them because they cannot or will not assemble with other believers for various reasons and miss the blessings of giving and receiving in church life activity and  functions. It has made me realize just how blessed I am to have an authentic NT church home where I am built up and encouraged to help people (one person at a time).

I pray that all who read this find their 'Ester assignments for such a time as this' . . . . . . . Grace and Peace . . . . Ray . . .

May God bless all of you and your churches that continue to follow our Lord and His teaching. What is missing today in the PCC is the message of the end times. The members may have an inner sense, God given, but the preaching and the ministry is lacking. The current adulation of the LGBT+ is something that I do not understand yet know that our enemy has turned the hearts of the people to him. We are looking at those in charge of the denomination willing to follow the world not what they made an oath to do. It is frustrating and heartbreaking but at the same time when one senses the absence of the Holy Spirit all is lost. The leadership will have much to answer. God did not abandon the people, the people abandoned God.

@Starise I forgot to mention the author I have been reading is Charles Ryrie.  His writing is within my ability to understand and not continually having to go to a dictionary. I am not a scholar in the least bit and more like a fisherman, fisherwoman. :D

Yes, he did the Ryrie Study Bible. He had written 30 books before he passed in 2016. I just did his study of Revelation. I am in 1 & 2 Thessalonians now.  I have "The Holy Spirit" and "Balancing the Christian Life" to go. I buy used books from Thriftbooks, com for a few dollars (no shipping for $15 order) and then give them away to family and friends or donate them.

Yes, I am a book worm.  :26: My husband likes to say "You know just enough to get yourself in trouble." That is the BEE part of me. Buzzzzzzzzzz........... :shout:"Is anyone listening to me?"  LOL!!!

I don't know all the theology stuff.  I read.  The Lord leads.  I read more.

Much like Mary, I ponder things in my heart.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
