Many do not realize that Adam never had eternal life. He did not eat of that tree. He was in fact made corruptible. He was made in such a way that he could be corrupted…and he was. Adam was not in any way eternal. His destiny is death.

God chose for His purpose and for Himself and His Son, to save a remnant and to grant Eternal Life to those that  He, by His Hand and by Grace, willed…redeemed for Himself.

Death is the absence of the spirit from the body.

It is not the termination of the spirit. Nor is it soul sleep.

Sleep is a term meant to describe the inactivity of the body in death.

2 Corinthians 5:8 clearly states (for the believer) to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD.

He has resided in Heaven since his ascension 1900 + years ago.

These are the same spirits (saints) that will return with Jesus (Jude 14) to their bodies that rise first (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) from the graves that will be opened (Revelation 20:13)...

1 Corinthians 15:51–57 (AV)
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Upon death, there’s a realm referred to as Sheol.  It is divided into two sections.  One section consists of the people who were wicked, and the people who weren’t.  It is a spiritual holding place until judgement day takes place.  Only a few are in heaven.  No person is in hell yet, which of course no one would be, since judgement day has yet to come.  Wikipedia/Sheol explains it.

Interesting, considering that Sheol is a Hebrew belief, coming from a divided Jewish Community, one that believed in life after death and one that does not.

I would not put too much faith in Sheol. It means Purgatory which doesn't exist. Unless one is Catholic.

Jesus told the thief on the cross "Today you will be with me in paradise."

Not one word about Sheol.

Sheol( Hebrew ) word for-the grave= Hades( Greek)

The bible is clear--all thought stops on the day of ones death. They remain in the grave until the resurection, which occurs after Armageddon.

Jesus was in Hades( grave) for 3 days-he could not be in Paradise on the first day.

The new earth is Paradise.

Name one Bible verse that says Jesus was in Hades or Hell. No one knows where Jesus or his soul was during the three days in the grave, His statement was exact for the thief that converted on the cross. "Today you will be with me in paradise."

Do not bet on the Apostles Creed, that's not Biblical.  That is the only mention of Hades and Christ ....

The body sleeps, but the soul does not.

Acts 2:31-- Hades is the grave.  Where does the bible say the soul doesnt sleep?

Leviticus 17:14--the soul of every form of flesh is its blood.

Man is a threefold being:

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (AV)
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The focus on death as well as life tends to be on one or two aspects of being human. But when you consider all three, it makes sense.

When we die in the body (the absence of life; specifically the spirit and the soul)

  • the body appears to sleep (which it is often called metaphorically) ceases to function and decays
  • the spirit goes to either Sheol or to Heaven
  • the soul (which is a buffer between the spirit and the flesh) ceases to exist

Sheol (Luke 16:19-31) is a threefold abode of the spirits of dead humans and imprisoned fallen angels:

43711035_Sheol(2).jpg.f7ed789a080c5a5b160da100c7c2646a.jpg

Abraham's Bosom has been empty since the day Jesus died on the cross:

Ephesians 4:8–10 (AV)
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Luke 23:43 (AV)
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Paradise is found only three times in the Bible and all three refer to Heaven where God is.

They went to Heaven in their disembodied spirits.

And so have all believers in Christ gone to the moment we die:

2 Corinthians 5:8 (AV)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

And we will come back with Jesus when he returns and be reunited with our perfected bodies in the resurrection

Jude 14

1 Corinthians 15:51ff

1 Thessalonians 14:13ff

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
