I believe that it would be like eating a hot Deep Dish Apple Pie, with out any apple filling or icecream........

would be very empty.

as it is, the average person can read the entire Bible in about 80 hours....( that is the full scale 66 book version.....

or,

the New Test. in 5 min a day for a year and about 10 min aday for the old for a year.....

i do believe there would be lots of valuable information lost.....

I don't think of it as a bible, but it could be a good summary of the bible without a doubt, but i think people should read the bible for insight & devos instead of the 100 min bible, but this in its self is not bad, actually i think it will be a good thing, it is no worse then when people put bible verses into their books then brake them down...

I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as it readers realize it's a summary rather than the 'whole story'.

This basicly amounts to yet another attempt by Satan to undermine the Bible. If he can convince people that this "summary" is all they need, then their knowledge of the Word of God goes down, thereby diminishing the likelihood that they will get saved, and generally making them easier targets for temptations in the future. This is as close as it comes to not reading the Bible at all.

Exactly! In no way should the bible be replaces. Its just a summany! When you read a book of the bible, then tell someone what you just read, thats is basically what it is.

It isn't wrong, until! You stop reading the bible, and just read this!

Here is my summany of John 1:1

In the begging was the word, the word was God, he created all things. The word became flesh But his own people didn't know him but rejected him. Before Jesus a man amed John, sent by God to prepare the way for the Word.

The Jews came to ask John who he was, he replied he wasn't the Messiah, or a prophet, he says he is the voice of the one crying in the wilderness preparing the way for the lord.

That is all it is! My summany shouldn't replace John 1:1 at all but that is what happend, a summany is just telling someone what happend. This is not supposed to replace the bible at all!

This sounds dangerous to me. It's like an innoculation- if people think "I've already read the Bible", they won't (unsaved people) be so likely to be interested in what the Bible has to say. In condensing the Bible, you would lose SO much information- such as the details that show you the Bible's archaeological standing, or the circumstances around which things happen.

Besides- how could you possibly decide which bits to include?

Which OT events would get in? Which books would be represented? Which prophets would be quoted? Probably Esther and Ruth- sounds like the liberal type of people doing this... - and maybe David and Daniel... perhaps Solomon. But what would happen to the stories? What would be said about David? Would he be a giant killer? A king? An adulterer? There is no way anyone's whole life could be made short enough to put in there- no prominent character, anyway. Maybe someone like Ehud would fit....

What about the NT? How would you get any of the doctrines in there in a way that they would even be understandable? The ones that rely on OT information would most likely be cut- it would take up too much time to add all of those in...

This seems like an impossible feat- to actually include ALL the doctrines of the Bible, in any less space/time than God did!

For those who say it is good for sharing the Gospel- that was not what the quote said it claimed. It was reviewed to be likely to be used as a Bible.

Oh- and for your reference- "Reader's Digest" actually put out a FULL version of the Bible.

My walk with the Lord started by reading a salvation pamphlet with several verses from the bible in it. I read the verses from a bible and before I knew it I finished up reading the whole bible. That was nearly twenty years ago and I am still learning.

Before a person reads a book they usually read thr fly cover first. Seems logic to me.

You can think of a Bible tract as a one-minute Bible.  How much better a 100-minute Bible!  Of course, after the introduction, it will be time to move onto the unabridged version.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

True.

I don't like the Street Bible...I mean.......why not read a Bible?

Not a Paraphrase?

NO>not up for "My Translations better", or "AV only" discussion....

Just saying what I think.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
