At this moment,  hurricanes are not a joke to me.  My mom and sister and her family are on the road, who knows where, trying to escape Houston.  The last time I had talked to her they had been on the road for 12 hours and still in Houston.

My daughter is at her mother-in-laws praying she won't lose everything she owns like she did with tropical strom allison.

Yes, there have been alot of post about hurricanes, but there are so many people who have already lost all their stuff not even counting the thousand that died and now we face a similar situation again.  No, I admit I am not in a joking mood at the moment.

I am fully aware of what is going on in Tx, have been getting updates thru-out the day as I worked and prayed... my son was also in prayer as we worked from 8 til 5 this evening.....

ironic thou, that they are not letting anyone into the area, but only the out bound lanes are being used, the inbound lanes are totally empty..... 4 and 6 lanes worth of road not being used.....

would it not be easier and a bit quicker to have a few more lanes for exiting the area?

I would think so, but then again, i am not the one in charge.....

anyways, i was not poking fun at those in trouble, you can rest assured about that.....

I have been thru several hurricanes myself, and you are right, they are not fun, but there are alot of funny things that happen during them when you look back, and also seen allot of things that have happened (damage) from them....

I currently live in tornado alley, and i enjoy watching the storms, my brother makes fun of me, cause i am the one that use to get the ladder out when the sirenes sounded and get on the roof to see where they were at.... i have seen massive amounts of damage done by them, have personally seen several take and destroy structures as thou they were tooth pick dwellings..... not even match sticks.... seen a tornado in Hawaii, at about 5 in the evening, and it was a very long one..... seen towns devistated by them, even wichita in the mid 60's where there were airplane parts all over and some airplanes looked as thou they was an aluminum can twisted..... watched as a funnel cloude moved above our house ( funnel cloud, is a tornado that is sticking out of the clouds but has not touched ground ) and was dropping as we were gathering kids and heading for the shelter, and then seen it move about 100 yards and disapate ( i think mom rebuked it )

if I was a betting person, ( whicih i am not, ) i would almost say that God was trying to say something about New Orleans..... like maybe DO NOT REBUILD THE CITY OF SIN.... do you think????? or maybe, He could be saying You Aint Seen Nothing Yet... wait until the real judgement comes your way.....

personally, i would not be looking to go back at all..... storm serge already breaking up the levies, and it has not made land fall yet..... all i can say is watch out...... and pray, pray, pray, pray.....

TexasGrandma, I am so sorry your family is going through this, and sorry for the anxiety you are feeling as you wait it out. I can't imagine what it is like to not know where your loved ones are and not knowing if they are safe.

Please stick around for love and support and God bless you and yours and may He keep you in perfect peace. :b:

No offense, but my energy at the moment is focused on prayers for my family. Not on what people do or don't think about me.

Just asked I had no clue who this person was and meant no disrespect. I guess asking a question is offensive to some.

To tell you the truth when I first read it, I thought you were being rude because of his OP. But, he is a great guy and doesn't take offense to much. We all word things differently. I come off as being rude alot of the times.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
