Many of our intellectual problems and difficult questions can be
pleasantly and reassuringly stored here:

"The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things
revealed belong to us and our children forever."
Deuteronomy 29:29

And . . .

Regarding some questions the Lord Jesus said:

"It is not for you to know."
Acts 1:7

And . . .

Not even the great Apostle Paul had all the answers:

"Now I know in part" __Paul
1 Corinthians 13:12

We will get the answers to our difficult questions when we get
home to Heaven. Meanwhile we wait patiently and we "Have faith
in God"__ The Lord Jesus (Mark 11:22)

Thoughts?

I've long accepted that there are points of doctrine and Biblical history that have been debated since well before my birth and they'll continue to be debated after my earthly existence is over. Nothing to really add to this, just an amen.

The only ones promised heaven in the bible are the little flock( Luke 12:32) these make up the 144,000( Rev 14:3) these will rule as kings and priests on thrones beside Jesus( Rev 1:6, Rev 20:6) these are numbered--The great crowd of other sheep which no man can number are not promised heaven any where in the bible. Since those 2 groups make up one flock that belongs to Jesus, they are the only ones brought into Gods kingdom from the trib and armageddon. But one of the groups, the one no man can number gets these promises-Matt 5:5. Psalm 37:29, Prov 2:21-22, Matt 24:22--The earth not heaven. The little flock is numbered.

My thoughts and speculations: Only our Triune Lord are omniscient and ever active.

I understand that we will be equal to the heavenly angels, one family working and worshipping in the eternal state. I surmise the family of God will be learning, admiring, worshipping God, and conducting our assigned work and responsibilities throughout eternity.

1 Corinthians 13:12 (KJV) For now we see through a glass [mirror], darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. [emphasis added].

When we see Jesus face-to-face, we will know Him as He knows us. Our knowledge will be free from all obscurities and errors. I believe this also infers we will immediately recognize everyone in heaven. How did Peter, John, and James immediately recognize Moses & Elijah at Jesusā€™s transfiguration?

I think some things we will be granted to know immediately. It does not appear that our tears will be immediately wiped away at our Rapture- Resurrection. At or before the wedding of the Lamb, will we notice some of our loved ones are missing?

1 Peter 1:12 (KJV) Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. [emphasis added].

I reason our heavenly family, and we will be ever learning throughout all of eternity.

Hebrews 2:7 (KJV) Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

The above verse also applies to Jesusā€™s incarnation in the flesh and humankind. At present, angels are far more powerful and knowledgeable. If we are to be equal with the heavenly angels, it seems we would need the same knowledge they have accumulated and learned throughout their existence.

I wonder where the idea of floating on a white cloud playing the harp came from?

I think you are absolutely right.

If people, in heaven are STILL interested in "who wins" - the Calvinist or the Arminian - I think they will be unhappy there.

People aren't going to line up and ask God all the unimportant things that they forced to be important here.Ā Ā

  • Who was Cain's wife?
  • Why did little children suffer from hunger and disease?

Yes, we are curious about things, but I think when we are gathered there, we will be still, prostrate, and silent.Ā  God will speak and it will be wonderful and there will be no looking back.

If there is something we will need to know, he will tell us.
