How does God feel about liars? How do we?

Do we tell lies Without realising? Is lying hypocrisy?

What about pathological liars?

The Bible is full of condemnations against lying so it's clear God takes the matter seriously, but sin is sin. At the end of the day any sin still keeps us away from God. As for pathological liars, while I believe God shows mercy to people with true mental impairments like dementia, I personally feel that pathological lying is largely just a man made designation that doesn't hold much weight. Spiritually speaking we can't take a diagnosis as a license to sin.

I have heard people say 'God hates the sin, but loves the sinner'. does He really?

Those verses in proverbs list seven things that He hates.

Exodus 20 'you shall not bear false witness'

Whoever wrote Psalm 119, said 'I hate and abhor lying'

The psalmist even said to The Lord 'do I not hate what You hate'?

Christians teach that God is love, and we know that He is (John 3:16), but do we avoid those things that He doesn't love?

Anybody can say God is love, you know three words taken out of thousands of words known as scripture.

It’s what God loves that is important to understand. Some like to teach that God loves everything and everybody all the time unconditionally because they want to believe that’s what love is. That my friend is a lie. Any and all relationships God has had with mankind has always come with conditions, also known as covenants or commandments. Which are conditions specified in the covenant or command. from commandments to Adam to the everlasting covenant Jesus Christ. What God loves most is the fulfillment of His Word to His satisfaction. All of creation is what it is because of that, and He is pleased when His Word is fulfilled in the sons of man, that they become sons of God. In the case of mankind that is what He loves. everything else is irrelevant and replaceable in His sight.

We are told that all liars end up in the lake of fire.

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” Revelation 21:8

Consider a few scriptures on how God view lies/liars:  Exodus 23:1-3; Proverbs 6:18; 11:20; 14:5; 1 John 4:20; Revelation 221:27; 22:15.

In support, James 4:4 talks about "...friendship with the world...enemy of God."  And at 1 John 5:19: "...world is in the power of the wicked one."  Furthermore; the Devil/Satan "...is the father of the lie."-John 8:44.

Lying is a sin. We do our best to not lie and if we do we ask God for forgiveness. God loves sinners.
