The Beast Is Not a (Seven-headed!) Man

It is widely taught in the Church that the Beast of Revelation 13 will be a man. Revelation 13’s Beast has “seven heads and ten horns.” Rev. 13:1; 17:3 There never has been, nor ever will be, such a man.

We find in Revelation 12:3 that the Devil/Satan/Dragon also has seven heads and ten horns. Satan is an angelic spirit.

Now, we know that the Holy Spirit can inhabit many people. Also, that God took the spirit that was upon Moses and divided it among 70 elders. Num. 11:16f. Also, that Jesus addressed the “we are many” spirit Legion as “thou” and “thy” (singular), and it answered him in the singular, saying “my name is Legion,” not “our name”:

Mark 5:8 For [Jesus] said unto him, “Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.” 9 Then He asked him, “What is thy name?” And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion: for we are many.” 10 And he besought Him much that He would not send them away out of the country.

Having this understanding, we can justifiably conclude that the seven-headed Beast is a collective spirit, not a man.

`Heads` refer to leaders. Thus, the last leader of the Global Government.

John was given "signs" to transmit ideas.

1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: (Re 1:1)

If scripture says that the Beast is a man multiple times, we must believe it. If this man is, as a "Beast" a "sign", and this "sign" has seven heads and ten horns, we must look to scripture to explain the "sign" - which it does. The Beast is then a man, and he is a sign, which is explained. Our Lord Jesus is a Man, but John announces Him as a "Lamb". Are we to discard His man-ness because of that?

In another section I defined the woman to be the constellation of Virgo and the beast the constellation of Scorpio or the star Antares.

 

I proposed a correlation between the birth of Jesus Christ on September 22 4 BC and the astronomical events that followed the Apollo 7 mission, on October 23 1968 AD.

 

But what do we have on the former date in Greece and Israel? On March 17 1969 a woman became prime minister of Israel, her name: Golda Meir. Geórgios Papadopoulos on the other hand was a Greek military officer and political leader who ruled Greece as a military dictator from 1967 to 1973. His name George reminds us of the icon of Saint George killing a dragon(the beast).

In Hellenic the isopsephy value of Phoenix (ΦΟΙΝΙΞ) is 700:

 

ΦΟΙΝΙΞ = 500+70+10+50+10+60 = 700

@WilliamL Agreed. Yes. Said collective spirit is depicted metaphorically as a single entity rising from the sea of sinful humanity and also as metaphorical Babylon's means of support.

What is a "collective spirit?" How does "heads" mean "spirits". How does a woman sit on a collective spirit?

Ephesians 6 teaches about the principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness, & spiritual wickedness in high places. The seven heads represent the controlling spirits of Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Political Rome, & Papal Rome. The eighth that is of the seven is the global kingdom that overarches all godless human perditious government. Thanks for asking.

You might have noticed the metaphorical morphing as I call it, of things John is shown while in vision mode, that change from one symbolic image to another. This is commonplace in the Bible and Paul mixes his metaphors more than once (1Co 3:9  For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building)   

Rev 17:1  Then one of the seven angels with the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits on many waters.

Rev 17:9  This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits.

The different images symbolise different aspects of the same thing, the result being a composite picture of what is being described using metaphors to carry the meaning across.

Here we have the "many waters" metaphor of verse 1 above explained, this being after the seven heads morph into the seven mountains of verse 9, on which the woman sits, and which are matched with the seven kings or kingdoms of verse 10.

Rev 17:15  Then he said to me, "The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.

Rev 17:10  There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time.

The composite picture then is of Mystery Babylon the Great, Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth, being supported by the beast whose seven mountain head kingdoms rise up from the sea of sinful humanity to oppress whomever, particularly God's People. (Isa 57:20-21  But the wicked are like the troubled sea, When it cannot rest, Whose waters cast up mire and dirt.  (21)  "There is no peace," Says my God, "for the wicked.")

Thank you for asking.

The G7 in the G20 (also controlling the UN) are the main powers of this world - Great Britain, (Lion) USA, (Eagle) Russia, (Bear) and the EU, (Leopard). They have a rotation of 5 (FIVE) leaders. (Does `5` ring a bell? Rev. 17: 10). When they are finished, (fallen) then I believe the President of Europe, (by then there will be one) will be the 6th, and then the Islamic leader will be the 7th. East and West will at last be under one head/leader.
