Asking questions HERE in this community is one of the best ways that I learn about the truth of God versus that which is deceptive and of the world.  Some of my questions sometimes upset others and then it's my fault for them being upset.  One very good poster, who I believe is experiencing a certain level of paranoia, essentially accused of me surreptitiously advancing Catholicism in this community because I ask a lot of questions about that theology and share some of their beliefs here so that other posts here, who are far more learned on the word of God than I, can elaborate on such things in order that I (and others) CAN LEARN!

However, I also understand that the greater community here may prefer that the discussion be kept light and "positive" meaning, don't ask questions that might make another uncomfortable.  Perhaps the community prefers to stick to sharing recipes, sharing Bible verses, supporting one another in the prayer request forum, etc.

I did join "Christian Forums" today as it is my hope that I can discuss how Catholicism is either missing from scripture or even in contradiction to scripture so that I CAN LEARN.

My question is, is this community a suitable place to discuss such things or, going forward, should I avoid any topic that has the slightest chance to offend someone?  Thank you.

If there are any issues ... just report them.  😀

It's a discussion board ... most subjects are up for discussion.

Some subjects though may need to be behind a password wall ... aka Adults Lounge etc with youth lukring on the forums.  :)

Be blessed!

...understand that not everyone will agree with you...

I totally get that and I am accustomed to people expressing disagreement with me on other forums in which I participate and on topics such as football, politics, and more.  I must tell you, my friend, that I don't believe that I am the one that needs a lesson in being able to tolerate a viewpoint that differs from my own.

Here's how it has gone so far:

1) I post an opinion or ask a question.

2) Someone becomes offended with my opinion or question.

3) I'm blamed for them being offended and am accused of creating "discord".

I do want to add that censorship of speech is more the rule than the exception in America today and even more so in the rest of the world.  It's difficult to find forums that will permit free expression, particularly those that are managed by the political left or conservative, relgious, people.

There is a saying:  "I may not share your opinion but I will fight for your right to say it".  Most people don't share that view, unfortunately.

From the very start I've personally not seen anything offensive about any of your questions - some people may jump to conclusions and I've seen that quite a bit but just try to remember that's on them, not you.... ☺️

What's really important is that we are accountable for our own words and no matter what we simply do not have to reply especially if it's a " reactionary ' response to something negative- take a breath, take captive your thoughts & subject them to the Obedience of Christ---- then reply or don't

I can't tell you how many times in a day I do not reply to someones negative comment( to me).... What good comes of it? Why bother,I've much better things to do with my time than to entertain folly.

Just be you- if it means anything at all it's been a pleasure getting to know you and I'm glad your here- keep asking questions, anyone worth knowing will take the time to get to know you!

My advice is simple: pay it no mind, my friend. It's impossible to please everyone all of the time and where I'm concerned, I haven't been offended by your conduct on Worthy. I recall your explanation regarding those questions you pose to us on the forum, and I find no fault with your motivation. Hardly. This is a discussion forum after all, yes? Discussions are going to take place here! :o

There will be discussions... there will be agreements and disagreements... and hopefully, neither our brother @George nor his team of moderators will find it necessary to become involved in a moderating capacity.

I highly recommend brushing off insults to everyone. For example... a client of the homeless shelter spews a few obscenities my way, using an unsavory moniker in place of my proper name. What is my reaction?

Someone doesn't believe me, calling me a liar or worse, and so my reaction is...

Okay. :)

Brush it off and pay it no mind. I've been called worse by my own family and treated rather harshly by those whom I love. It's just part of our walk, brother. Remember:

 or :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
