Gun or needle? better ear piercing method...

Personally I think guns are a horrible choice for ear piercing. Not only do they leave to big of a hole, a ear is a really hard target to hit, even for your smaller calibers such as a 22Lr or a .17 Remington.

Farouk, why all this interest in tattoos and ear piercings?  Is this the Lord, or something unhealthy?

It’s been so long since I had my ears pierced but I believe they were done with a gun. Thankfully no complications there… I used to have my nose pierced (no longer) and that one was done in a pro shop with the needle. It was a good professional job but boy was that one painful!

@HopeInHim Yes, sensible to have gone to a pro shop for it, right? and being cartilage the hole probably stays their longer without closing up if you don't have a ring in it for a while. You would probably find that a ring would still fit. (Ezekiel 16.12 also comes to mind, where the Lord Himself gave Zion a nose ring.)

@Rosie1jack2pauline3 Interesting that you should mention tongue; the lady serving at my local Christian bookstore had one of those piercings; put through exactly in the middle it's one that hurts the least to have done.

People discover their own flair for style in their own ways. A lot of ppl quietly recognize that piercings can be nice. If doing cartilage isn't contemplated practically, then sometimes fitting 3 pairs instead of (the now almost standard) 2 pairs through the lobes can be a practical possibility for some ppl with a strong sense of style.

@David1701 I take your point about there being far weightier subjects in terms of doctrine.

There is as I see it a big different between Biblical doctrine and trying to enforce legalism.
