Things like "reincarnation, astrology, psychics and the presence of spiritual energy in physical objects like mountains or trees." Not of God

"The presence of spiritual energy in ... mountains or trees."

Actually there is -- it's just not any generic spiritual energy we can just tap into the way New Age stuff says:  it's the energy of God upholding the existence of every particle of those things continuously.  It's also the energy of what I'll call their "shaping", something that goes to Paul's use of the word "firstborn" to describe Jesus:  to philosophers, the term we translate "firstborn" had a specific meaning that can best be rendered as "opener of the Way" -- so when Paul says that Jesus is the Firstborn he's saying that Jesus made it possible for there to even be a Creation.  But it goes beyond that:  the "opener of the way" left its/his "form" on everything that comes through that way, which tells us that everything in Creation was shaped by Jesus and thus everything in Creation speaks about Him!

That's really why Paul can say "they are without excuse", because even as subdued as the voices of created things are due to the Fall, they still "sing out His name" because every single one was shaped by coming through the "Jesus-shaped door" into existence.

Just one lesson we can learn from that is that it is no accident that trees lose their leaves and seem dead for several months before they spring into new life; of course they do, because that's what Jesus did!  And it's no  accident that seeds "fall into the ground and die" but then yield a harvest; of course they do, because that's what Jesus did!  All those things can be used to talk about Jesus, about the Kingdom of Heaven, not because creative minds can see such connections but because THE Creative Mind left His "shape" on them by coming into the world so that they can come into the world.

So feeling energized by nature is quite appropriate, and is even more powerful when we realize that the beauty we see in nature is just the Beauty of the One Who shaped nature -- and we don't even have to understand how every little thing speaks of Him; like children who are in awe of 'magic' tricks without knowing how they're done, we can be in awe of the fact that in its own way everything we will ever encounter in this life speaks of the Incarnate One.

We are called to worship God and not its creation as the New Agers are  trying to get everyone onboard to bow down to the worship of mother earth and of what they believe is the true god -lucifer-= a created being instead of God Eternal.

Lucifers minions are now trying to -genetically- modify all of Gods creation in order to call everything that was originally created by God its own  and to proceed and destroy it. John 10:10 satan only come to steal kill, destroy.

I had a philosophy professor who said New Age stuff is all that "old age religion", just with honey and spices added and simmered to get the bitterness out.  No more blood sacrifices or anything else, just what's "nice" and "affirming".

Kind of like a used car salesman...

Actually the deeper you get into the New Age=old age occult satan worship, you open the door that allows evil a welcome mat to come round you and in you and from there the darker becomes more revealed and integrated into you separating you more and more from God and His Truth and plan of Mercy and Grace through His only begotten Son Christ Jesus.

You said Roman Catholic then called "the vicar" "her".

"New age stole"... to use a very old bit of slang, "Gag me!"  The one time I was in a church where there was a female preacher and she wore new-agey stoles it was obvious (on Easter morning, no less!) that she didn't believe Jesus actually rose from the dead.....

yes the vicar is a 'her' she was busy mixing new age and Catholic teachings into her service. the stole was the very last straw! and at a time when i was starting to 'wake up' i could now see it.

Well I don't believe we can sit on the fence with regard to this. If we hold to the bible, then New Age ideas are not condoned.

Well, the only thing is that some "New Age" ideas aren't clearly defined.  During the time of Jesus, the pharisees may have considered in New Age to expect that they should love their enemies and treat others as they want to be treated.  It was acceptable at that time to look down upon the "dogs" or pagans, gentiles, and Samaritans.  So that was kind of radical at that time.

I would agree that not everyone thinks of the same things when the term New Age is mentioned. I would say that 'most' associate it with the 3rd eye, crystals, vibrations, becoming one with nature or the ether, light beings that some communicate with. Drug use is sometimes a part of it.

And it really isn't 'new' as someone else mentioned. It's all old pagan religion concepts wrapped in a new name. Some call it occult lite, but I think the reality of it is it has the very real potential to become very deep. In fact those who have been into it deep have been in contact with demons. I believe most of the process in New Age practice is designed to have the individual open up to demons, both influence and possession. If we take a person zoned out on this they might seem happy in a very odd way, like someone under the influence of something. I have been in contact with a few of them, one who claimed aliens were coming to him and giving him messages.

Everything about all of this should seem 'off' to a believer. I believe this is the spirit of the apostate church and is the poor subsitute for God's Spirit. Others in this thread have mentioned they clearly seen these things in some of the churches. These people are not preaching Jesus Christ, they are preaching feel good using other sources of power. Lower sources. The message is, come to us, we don't think your sin is really sin. God loves us all. Jesus was a wonderful prophet.Satan sets traps and men become entangled in them.

There is some basis for some of their ideas as has been mentioned, however they take that small basis and make it into A BIG LIE.

There is another subtle

but wrong  new age ideology  that has crept into the church and that is the calling/praying on angels for protection.

Gods angels answer to God. We are not to pray to angels or try summoning them.

Prayer is to be made only to God. Angels are God's servants, but they cannot intercede for us before God. Our prayers can be made directly to God. Hebrews 4:14-16 assures us, "Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." Jesus is our only mediator before God the Father. He has also given us the Holy Spirit to live with us (John 14:15-31; 16:5-15) and to intercede on our behalf (Romans 8:26-27). We are called to pray without ceasing to our Lord (1 Thessalonians 5:17), something that cannot take place if we also pray to angels.

That's something I like about Martin Luther:  when his prayers mention angels, they are always asking God to send them, never talking to them directly.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
