Yes, nothing last year.   But the previous year, there was Spirit.

LadyPearTree and I watched him from egg hatch to flying away.

Here is Spirit...

Amazing to watch such huge predatory bird gently tend to a tiny chick

From yesterday's sunrise over the valley. The "dancing spirit" stick which has reminded me of David's dancing in delight of God seems to be lifting the sun  after a dark night of wind and storm.

There was at that moment a shock of wind that came with the new day's light that rippled, or really surged, over the nest.

It is like the curtain  of the dark is being ripped back and the dancing stick branch leaps to celebrate, a new day.

Fun stuff to take in.

There are 32,000 watching the nest right now.  It's so exciting and God is watching over that little bird nest.

'Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. ' - Matthew 10:29

'Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, Even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.' - Psalm 84:3

The Lord found Israel in a desert. He found them in an empty and windy land. He took care of them and kept them safe. He guarded them as he would guard his own eyes.  He was like an eagle that stirs up its nest. It hovers over its little ones. It spreads out its wings to catch them. It carries them up in the air on its feathers.  - Deuteronomy 32:10-11

Hi @debrakay There's a lot in those sparrow and eagle verse quotes, re. the Lord's deep care for His pilgrim people.

( @Gabriel80 was also just talking about sparrows in a different context on another thread.)

I try not to worry but I don't think we have seen Shadow at the nest for close to 12 hours.  That means Jackie has not had any food for 12 hours or longer unless I missed something.

I havent watched the cam... I have a pond near my house where bald eagles are frequently "patrolling" looking for prey.

I will only say that those things are vicious and are scared of very little.

I was leaving my house one day and one had killed something... looked like a house hold cat or a bob cat... it remained eating the flesh as I drove by.  Any other animal or bird would have flown off.  It didn't even flench or notice my car... and it was maybe 5ft off of the road on the shoulder.

And if you stop and approach it, chances are it will mess you over.  I've seen owls do that.
