Romans 12.....

Question One: How can we describe this "measure of faith"?

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone

who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he

ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each

one a measure of faith.

This verse called to my mind the parable of the treasure

buried in the field. Finding treasure in a field, and investing

everything into that field. The hidden treasure in us is that

seed, that measure of faith that we can only nourish and

grow to maturity  through sober minded humility.

Blessings Brother

Beautiful , Rom12:3 you have focused on yet another one of my favorite and very BIG " little words" ,lol ( a measure of Faith)that helped me,many decades ago to Understand that indeed this is a SEED- a God Given Seed implanted in us through our very own Faith in Christ Jesus- I reflect on this point of Revelation in my own personal experience.

Before I actually HUMBLED myself to the Obedience of Christ, submitting fully to His Lordship my carnal mind had limited understanding and Brother,I remember this well...I think it's important we do not forget our " old man"- this is our Testimony, what has happened to us by the Grace of God,when Christ Abides in us- our new Life just begins

Studying the Word of God without the Eyes of Understanding I reasoned that every person was born with " a measure of Faith"- I thought that lead us to the Cross, sort of like those of them that Believe ELECTION is being " selected" for Salvation...

You have zeroed in on the biggie- HUMILITY!!! Humility is submission to our Lord,no longer " submitting " to a spirit of pride.   It was then I could Understand that that " measure of Faith" is Given to the Believer, not Born with it.Yes,it is the Seed we must nurture, feed, water and " tend" and it becomes FIRMLY Established,Growing into maturity and ultimately we shall PRODUCE!!!!

Again, our Election is by the Grace of God after we become a member of His Body- in Him we are the ELECT.....we are Servants just like Jesus! We are in Him,He is in us and we are in the Father- our Relationship with our Heavenly Father in Christ behins when Holy Spirit Makes our spirit Alive!

Have I rambled on too much? You always seem to bring me back to what Holy Spirit Has Revealed along the Way of my own journey walking in Spirit and in Truth!

The destination was always LOVE,where we first began ,when He First Loved us- returning to our First Love❤️

Much appreciation for bringing up such important key factors that are in the Written Word of God that helps us all to GROW and rightly divide .

In His Love,Kwik

Also, the point is the verse is saying that God has chosen the means of salvation

Exactly. The Election as the path to salvation via stewardship

is clearly distinct from the Father's promise to save the oppressed,

the afflicted, the orphan, the widow, the Jew, the refugee....

Chosen, but not to The Election.

God's Own Purpose Defines The Chosen

1 Corinthians 1:

27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame

the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to

shame the things which are mighty;

28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised

God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing

the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.

James 2:5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen

the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom

which He promised to those who love Him?

What distinguishes the Election is that their Salvation

makes them partakers of the Glory of Christ.

Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present

time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall

be revealed in us.

1 Corinthians 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery,

the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in

a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the

same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Just as many are called but few are chosen, those who choose to live the life of a sheep cannot expect the glory of a shepherd.

2 Corinthians 4: 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

Closing prayer:

Colossians 1:9-14 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it,

do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with

the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being

fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all

patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who

has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the

light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed

us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have

redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Revelation 17:14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.

A study of the elect/chosen is not complete without the need

to be found faithful.

Luke 16:
10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much;

and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.

11 Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous

mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s,

who will give you what is your own?

13 No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate

the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one

and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

1 Corinthians 4:

Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ

and stewards of the mysteries of God.

2 Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.

Revelation 2:

10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer.

Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that

you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days.

Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says

to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt

by the second death.

Because He is faithful, we must be found faithful.

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope

without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Philippians 3:

8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence

of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have

suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish,

that I may gain Christ

9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness,

which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ,

the righteousness which is from God by faith;

10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection,

and the fellowship of His sufferings,

being conformed to His death,

11 if, by any means, I may attain to

the resurrection from the dead.

2 Peter 3:

13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise,

look for new heavens and a new earth

in which righteousness dwells.

14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things,

be diligent to be found by Him in peace,

without spot and blameless.

General Summation beginning with 'the called'.

Matthew 20: 16 So the last will be first, and the first last.

For many are called, but few chosen.

Romans 1:

Through Him we have received grace and apostleship

for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name,

among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ;

7 To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father

and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 2:12 That you would walk worthy

of God, Who has called you unto His

Kingdom and Glory.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together

for good to those who love God, to those who are the called

according to His purpose

Revelation 17:14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.

Colossians 3:

12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on

tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;

13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone

has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you,

so you also must do.

14 But above all these things put on love, which is

the bond of perfection.

I’m wondering if folks might not know that the chosen are the Elect and that another name for the “Elect” is “saints.”

That would depend on whether or not they have been

reading the thread from the beginning!

A couple of members have posted fairly exhaustive

lists of scriptures on the topic.

Called to be saints=called to holiness

Chosen/Elect by Sanctification.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.

"chose you"-[G138] haireo, not elektos

Ephesians 1:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has

blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world,

that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.

Basically a saint is a “holy one,” someone who is set apart for God's special purposes    Every Follower of Christ is a "saint"

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
