A clear distinction is made between called and chosen. Many or Few.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Galatians 6:

3 For if a man think himself to be something,

when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall

he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.

5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

Not everyone will respond to Christ’s calling—only the Elect will respond, and what a response it will be; more than likely, they will run into the arms of Jesus.

Firstly, no one knows whether or not they’re Elect.  I’d have to say that for the Elect, when they hear the Gospel, it is more like a remembering or a recognition of God’s grace and subsequently, an immediate response of acceptance of that grace and faith in Christ.  I don’t really know.  I’m thinking that it’s an individual response and experience.
