I certainly don't believe in luck. Consider the odds if you will:

There's a one in one hundred billion chance that someone would be born with oculopharyngeal muscular dystrophy and chronic granulomatous disease. Both are rare genetic maladies. I'm that 1 in 100,000,000,000 people.

Ah, but then so was the woman who gave birth to me! She was part of that one in one hundred billion people, too. I inherited both from my mother. She was affected by muscular dystrophy like I am, but she never suffered from chronic granulomatous disease (CGD). 85% of people affected by CGD are male.

There's no such thing as luck (or the odds). :)

Why you?

Of those "one hundred billion people," how many were fortunate enough, like you, to be saved?........:)

I would wish your situation upon ALL my UNSAVED friends and family.

Perspective.   And thanks, Marathoner, I sympathize your situation. Really.

This too will pass...and it will be worth it all.

No need to sympathize. I'm blessed beyond words. I demonstrated that "luck" and odds are meaningless to the Lord.

Good one, and forgot about that one. Thanks...
However, it does not negate God's promises to His flock/children.
And, God is light, and prayer changes things.

Yes, but keeping in mind and ask as Jesus did in asking the Father that His will be done and not His or ours.

I do not believe there is a force in the creation called "luck" - which has the power to direct, or influence, our circumstances.

Outcomes (good or bad) may result from supernatural favor (or lack thereof), or coincidence, or be a product of our (or other people's) actions.

God does everything for our benefit and is aware and allows for any situation that will serve to better us in one way or another. Chance isn't a real thing if God is real I'd believe.

Luck, or favor in the sight of the Lord....Yes

Proverbs 3:1-4, ESV My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.

"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, And he who wins souls is wise"

And the Lord said to Moses,
“This very thing that you have spoken
I will do, for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.”

And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs.

For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after anotherJohn 1:16

Doing the 'right thing' increases luck  favor with the Lord.

God is the maker and giver of all things. Nothing happens by chance
