What Has Become of Us in the USA?

An 85 year old man shots a 16 year old boy that rings his doorbell? And then the boy seeking help with a bullet through his head goes to three homes without getting response for aid before yet another neighbor does rush to his aid?

Is America so fear filled today that  if a door bell rings one picks up a gun and shots the person at their door?

Is this to be the results that we will see more of as result of  of Sheriffs encouraging residents to "stand their ground"?

With  real criminals out without bail there is real reason to be in some fear, but shooting at the sound of a doorbell ring? 

Praying for this young man, a child really, that has been shot. He has a name it is Ralph Yarl.

I'm wondering why the man answered the door since hes so paranoid?It's people like that have no business having a firearm & probably living on his own...

The real question to be asking is why is there so little respect for human life today in America, what has cheapened the value of life so much that people will take it without second thought?

There actually is an answer to that, but it's inconvenient to find it so it usually never gets asked in a manner that leads to it.

Ask the right questions, get the right answers.  The right questions never have "well it could be this" or "well it could be that" as an answer, they have "This is the answer" as the answer.

Yes I do know, as always there may be more to this news story  yet to come out. But to shoot a kid, wow evil has us in the USA on the run. Too many of us within the USA are way too scared of each other it seems to me. 

Got to get away from the unsocial media and the 24/7 cable news channels and get to reading  the Bible and sharing Good news and good times with one another in person.

 I do think of my own aunt and uncle that at age 85 bought an AK 47 with three clips of 30 rounds and one  0f 20  to defend themselves against whatever, as they listened nearly 20 hours a day, every day, to FOX Cable news. I managed to convince them that an intruder would simply take the weapon away from them and then kill them if the intruder so desired. They were not strong enough to even wield the weapon they had bought legally. But they had been whipped into a sense of religious duty to defend against evil of the left.... Can happen to the nicest of us!

He went to the wrong home to retrieve his twin 11 year old brothers that were playing at another home in the neighborhood. He was a good student and section leader at the school band. Not likely to have been up to evil purposes. Who knows what will come out, but for me it has become way too much that is feared when we just shoot and ask questions later so to speak. These are real people bleeding on way too many streets in  the USA. Fear and evil wins when people think one can just shoot a way into  safety from evil.

It's horrible - and what's more is that he had to go to 3 houses before someone would help the boy!!!!

I don't understand people,I really don't - I don't understand how anyone could be so heartless and uncaring for another human being( no matter what they were doing at your door).....there's something seriously wrong with a person that wants to kill a person for coming to their door!It's evil,pure evil

Talking about problems is meaningless unless it leads to discovering solutions.

Keep in mind, though, that virtually all of our problems today are the result of solutions to prior problems so be careful about what solutions you may propose.

You know,we have the right to bear arms and Im all for it-what I'm not supportive of is that incompetent lunatics can legally purchase firearms

Any mentally unsound person can buy a gun and as long as they have no felony convictions they are a-okay,I believe this is when our medical records should not be withheld and a competency test should be required.....Also,age factor,I feel the same way about Drivers licenses,after let's say age 65 a test for competency,physical & mental capacity should be evaluated --- think of all the revenue that would generate for the State

I see people as old as Methuselah driving what I call a 4000 lb weapon and they have no idea anyone else is next to them,behind them or blowing the horn as they are about to plow into some one.....it's absurd

I'm past the age I suggest,I'd be happy to submit to a competency test,driving test(Or weapons efficiency) relinquish my medical info,psyche evaluation & competency. .. if not,auto revocation!

Our rights are precious but our laws are not sufficient ....we have the right to defend ourselves & our property but theirs far too many that do not qualify imo

Maybe it's just me but those are my thoughts

The red flag laws are not perfect but look to be an effective tool.
