On this morning's dog walk, I was musing before the Lord about His wonderful purpose.  I really like summarizing my understanding of things before Him, and to thank Him for His love/what He's done and is doing with me and the whole world, and ask if my understanding is correct - "Lord, please show me more of your grand purpose!"  I always enjoy this and have a sense of "flow" and fellowship within me.

Here's what I was musing about (for anyone that's actually interested):

·        God had a purpose in creating man – fellowship with God and dominion over all the earth and everything living & moving on it       (including the serpent)

·        Man was deceived by the serpent and the enemy usurped man’s authority

·        Thereby sin entered man and the world – corruption and death became our existence

·        Christ came as the perfect Lamb to shed His life-blood and die in man’s place (to satisfy our righteous God’s requirement)

·        In Christ, man is completely forgiven before God

·        God is both just and the justifier – it’s His plan, He’s executed it and He is satisfied

·        But after forgiveness man still needed a new life to replace our corrupted Adam-based life

·        Only Christ’s life can rule and reign properly

·        So the last Adam (Jesus Christ) became a life-giving Spirit to become man’s integral life!

·        And now He lives in His believers!

·        Therefore Christ is now our life – HALLELUJAH!

·        The Christian life is learning to let Christ operate in and through us: Those who learn and do this overcome.

·        (And there’s never any condemnation to those of us in Christ – when we fall, we claim His blood and simply get back up!)

Why did God do all this for us?  HE LOVES US AND WANTS THE VERY BEST (Christ) FOR US!

♬ Oh what a life, Oh what a peace, the Christ who is all within me lives!!!

I am reminded of of Psalm 1:3, when referring to one who meditates: “He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, a tree that produces fruit in its season, the foliage of which does not wither. And everything he does will succeed.”

Hi @BibleStudent100 We were thinking in church about this verse recently.

Actually it wasn't me who took a dog walking; I think the quote about it was from someone else.

Blessings.

Growing In Him! God brings the increase...

Colossians 2::19 Holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body,

nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments,

grows with the increase that is from God.

1 Corinthians 3:7 So then neither he who plants is anything,

nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

Ephesians 4:

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him

in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted

by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working

in the measure of every part, making increase of the body

unto the edifying of itself in love.

How much higher is this view of things than the one currently held in Christianity. The majority are happy to die and go to heaven. But this means that Satan could stop God and His councils. The Christian message is one page about believing in Jesus and gaining entry into the "pearly gates". But God's councils immutable.
- Man is made to inhabit the EARTH
- Man is made to be in the image and likeness of God
- Man is made to be so like Jesus that he can marry Him
- Man will show forth God's righteousness by the evil being in the Lake of Fire
- Man will show forth God's faithfulness by Israel being restored because of COVENANT
- Man will show forth God's glory in ages to come because he ate from the Tree of Life
- Man will rule the earth, applying God's rules that exist in heaven
- Man will be resurrected to show God's power
- Man will God's dwelling on EARTH. The New Jerusalem "comes down"
- Man will be a source of God's life - rivers of living water gushing out of him

1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is - ! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. 2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: 7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; 8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. 9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Yes - really good reply!  And the role God has created us for is beyond . . . (words fail)!

The last bullet about "Man will be a source of God's life"  "Out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water."  John 7:38

And indeed - "What is man that You are mindful of him"!?  "Let Us create man in Our image and likeness . . . and let them have dominion . . . over all the earth"

Here's a similar verse: "Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3.18).

Here's a similar verse: "Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3.18).

Amen! And look at the context. A day that is actually 1,000 years but is to God a "day" (v.8). It is bounded by two judgments. In verse 11 Peter says "ye", indicating believers. But in verse 9 it is "some men". It would seem that he addresses the heathen. But no. God is longsuffering "US-ward". Peter addresses Christians who will suffer for their actions "in that (1,000 year) day". The end of the 1,000 year-day is the earth purged by fire. But not only the earth, but heaven too. And as proof of judgment is the earth immersed in water TWICE (vs.5-6) - once before Adam (Gen.1:2) and once at Noah's 600th year. Peter tells us that judgment must be FIRST in the House of God (1st Pet.4:17) and ends with the passing away of earth AND heaven.

But you are right. the operative word is "GROW". This is what Bible Hub says about what we should grow in KNOWLEDGE. There is intellectual knowledge which the Gnostics revered but which was disastrous to the truth. Here is what Bible Hub says;

Cognate: 1108 gnṓsis (a feminine noun derived from 1097 /ginṓskō, "experientially know") – functional ("working") knowledge gleaned from first-hand (personal) experience, connecting theory to application; "application-knowledge," gained in (by) a direct relationship. See 1097 (ginōskō).

1108 /gnṓsis ("applied-knowledge") is only as accurate (reliable) as the relationship it derives from. For example, the Gnostics boasted of their "applied knowledge" gained by their personal spiritual experiences – and it was (is) disastrous!

This all means that to "grow" in the knowledge of Christ is the guaranteed result of an intimate walk with Him. This knowledge is not acquired by study or university attendance. It is acquired by talking and walking with Him.

Hi VA,

Yes, what Christ has done is beyond words, but we will praise Him forever. Now so glad you asked `Lord, please show me MORE of your grand purpose.`

And there is so much more in His word than just man ruling on the earth. God told Abel, (Adam`s son) more of His great purpose for those who could believe for more.

Perhaps we can look into that.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
