My point is that Gog/Magog does not refer to Russia. That notion's beginnings can be traced if the student is willing to do the work.

That is not even close to definitive, but we have a good idea of where Gog settled and it was not Russia.

Especially regarding eschatology, many assumptions are made and often based on things said and passed on that have little to no basis in truth.

The student ought to look far and wide on these subjects.

Gog invades the Christs kingdom in revelation 20.The saints of God in Christ who have inherited the kingdom promised to abrahams seed.

And God makes fire come down out of heaven and it devours Gog at that time.

It's the same in Ezekiel ,The first resurection takes place in Ezekiel 37.

Gog invades the kingdom.of the Lord in Ezekiel 38-39 and fire comes down from heaven and devours him.

 

Same kingdom,same intruders,same outcome 

Much of turkey is in the kingdom.of heaven and the sinners in that kingdom are cast out at he time of Christs coming.There will be no turkey when Gog invades the land 1000 years later.

All of the land south of the Euphrates in Turkey  is the land  promised to Christ.

Turkey is one of the ten nations that fight for the promised land when the lamb comes.

All sinners will be removed from.the promised land when Christ comes.

The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

All ten horns which are the ten nations will be cast into the fire,including the little horn that is in Israel today.

Yes it drains an eastern portion of Turkey, but again I was discussing where Gog settled--almost certainly not Russia. From Ezekiel's point of view--Turkey is north.

So, if that is the case, and it must be considered--Russia and Ukraine has nothing to do with the prophecy.

Sure makes it fun reading the papers, though.

Is Russia oil independent? or are they running low.  Is OPEC running low one oil.  One major earthquake can put a damper on a region.  Does Israel have a massive untapped supply of oil beneath them.  Is there more in the Dead Sea that we know of.  How many resources are there in that Sea.  Which of these is the hook in the Jaw that prompted Gog - Magog and other countries to attack Israel. Ezk 38:4.
