The brutality of war rather on a large scale or small scale has been going on 24/7 for a very long time. WW2 didn't end the war of all wars it just started another war like they all do. For the same reason he doesn't stop the countless acts of cruelty people inflict on the weak and helpless every day. They would not recognise his intervention and would not credit or praise him for his mercy and kindness. If God wanted too, He could “make” us do the right things and avoid the bad things. Instead, God gave us the ability to choose for ourselves. God gave us instructions on how we should treat our fellow human beings. See “stranger”, this term is referenced 128 times. See the “Ten Commandments” There are numerous verses where God gives us His advice, but He never made us do anything. God gave us the ability of choice, so choose wisely.
