Do you know of any promises the Lord has made concerning taking care of those that walk with Him, abiding in Christ?

Yes I do; the record of Job especially at Job 2 within the oldest book of the Bible, on through Psalms especially the 23rd, to Thessalonians and Hebrews, concluding at Revelation.

I am shown the covenants both unilateral  as well as bilateral made that declares the everlasting mercy  of God.

Yes I know of them.

agree homelessness causes are many. As we can state the problems its more encouraging to site some solutions. Whereas man has yet to fix the problem. Think it will only be solved when Almighty God steps in.

So you think the Lord wants His people to live in poverty and even be homeless?

Think this would make us closer to the Lord?

My point was, there are in fact a lot of promises in God's Word that show He does NOT want His people to live in poverty at all.

Not all will be very wealthy but we should all have plenty to meet our needs as well as the needs of others in the Body of Christ around us (to the household of faith first!).

And it's related to our work!  The Lord will bless our work IF we believe His promises concerning our financial well being... and if we don't work we shouldn't eat as the Lord's Word says in 2 Thessalonians 3:10

Of course some will claim "you preach prosperity gospel" and the accurate reply is... no, it's just regular Gospel and the devil talked you out of believing some of God's promises! :noidea:

Some comments made on these boards are too silly to respond to other than to simply declare them silly.

There are those that claim we should have next to nothing because in doing so it makes us closer to the Lord.

I've found that some people are literally scared to have a little money because they are afraid it will cause them to turn away from the Lord

Apparently they have not learned about the fruit of the Spirit which includes self control which actually is the Lord's self control He is sharing with us... IF we will walk in the Spirit based on God's Word.

While I doubt that to be the case, if there are any I will be pleased to relieve them of their burden.

Why are the homeless, homeless?

My personal belief is that the homeless were abandoned by their families for whatever reason.

Does anyone know of any studies on this?

The Bible says we will always have the poor Mat 26:11

Many of the people begging for money on street corners refuse to work. I learnt along time ago give them food no money why! Because I hired one and they told me about the scam so if your giving them money you fell for it. But their are some cases where God will let you know who needs help if you listen to his voice!

There are 2 extremes being taught about this world's wealth

Once side claims we should all be millionaires (commonly called the prosperity gospel) and these are typically the folks that also believe Christians are going to take over the world for Jesus and the Lord cannot come back to earth until we get that job done.

It's funny because they don't have an army or a navy or an air force or any way to force the world to become Christians.  LoL!

Then on the flip side you have some folks that teach it's a sin to have any more money than you need to just barely get by on, and that being poor makes one closer to the Lord

The funny thing is, BOTH groups have allowed the deceitfulness of riches enter in and choke God's Word from their lives and It has become unfruitful (see Mark 4:13-20)

Proverbs 11:1
A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight

TRUE prosperity is being in a right relationship with the Lord abiding in Him!

Doesn't matter what some hear of others teaching. It only matters what the Bible states and the Holy Spirit guides individuals in doing regarding the Bible's reveal.

From Proverbs 30 ...

Two things I request of You
(Deprive me not before I die):
 Remove falsehood and lies far from me;
Give me neither poverty nor riches—
Feed me with the food allotted to me;
Lest I be full and deny You,
And say, “Who is the Lord?”
Or lest I be poor and steal,
And profane the name of my God.

Actually it does matter because among others verses , Ephesians 5:11 tells us to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather REPROVE them

In other words we should be correcting the false doctrine going around so others don't fall in to traps set by the devil that can turn them away from the Lord.

It's not right to take the "I got mine, phooey on ever one else" mentality.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
