That's rich! Using 1 John 7? to refute 1 John 3.

And you ask what am I saying? What is John saying?

And what are you hearing?

John 17:20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also

for those who will believe in Me through their word"

What word might that be? The Gospel maybe?

No hypocrisy or lawlessness in Christianity? That is a relief.

Matthew 5:20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness

exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees,

you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Are you held to the standards of the Sermon on the Mount,

or is that not for Christians either?

Do you seriously expect me to reply to this?

You quoted 1 John and so did I.  Why is your quote valid and mine isn't?

The rest of your post makes no sense either.

The World, or Christianity here?  @JimmyB

Matthew 7:23 And then I will declare to them,

‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness'.

Do you still not understand to whom the gospels were written?

For what audience did Luke write his Gospel? Acts? I vehemently disagree with your position and I have a distinct distaste for your condescension that I need your explanation. HARD PASS

1st John 3:4 A literal rendering of the first clause would be "everyone who commits sin also commits lawlessness". Sin is lawlessness. The two words are virtually interchangeable. Sin "Greek hamartian" has a root idea of missing the mark while lawlessness "Greek anomian" implies a more serious offense of purposely disregarding the law of God. The false teachers John talked about may have been playing down the seriousness of minor offenses.  The apostle insisted that any forum of sin is rebellion against God.

1 John 3:

4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

Sin-hamartia, Lawlessness-anomia

Let's put the focus on lawlessness; in several contexts besides 1 John 3

The state of Agape in the church

Matthew 24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

The Narrow Road

Romans 6:19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh.

For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness,

and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness,

so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.

World Relations

2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers.

For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness?

And what communion has light with darkness?

Convicting Secret Sin of the Heart

Matthew 23:

27 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which

indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness

28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men,

but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Agreed! Nice passages!

Revelation 14:12-13, “Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the commands of יהוה and the belief of יהושע. And I heard a voice out of the heaven saying to me, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Master from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, in order that they rest from their labors, and their works follow with them.”

Mat 7:12-14, "Therefore, all things you want men to do to you, do the same to them, for this is the (intent of the) Law and the Prophets. Enter in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who go that way. Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way which leads to life, and few there are who find it."

I think common culture is ver Lawless and even iniquity is being taught by religious leaders, even back then even more so today.

Jude 1:3-5,3 Beloved ones, making all haste to write to you concerning our common deliverance, I felt the necessity to write to you urging you to earnestly contend for the belief which was once for all delivered to the set-apart ones. 4 For certain men have slipped in, whose judgment was written about long ago, wicked ones perverting the mercy of our Elohim for licentiousness (license to sin), and denying the only Master יהוה and our Master יהושע Messiah. 5 But I intend to remind you, though you once knew this, that יהוה, having saved a people out of the land of Mitsrayim, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.”

1 John 7:8-9, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."  So claiming that Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him" simply isn't true.  Nobody is perfect!  (Except, of course, Jesus Christ.)

I didn't make this claim, John did.

You aren't refuting me by quoting 1 John 1:8,9; you are refuting 1 John 3:6.

Using John to refute John.

Furthermore, he does not say that he has NEVER seen Him nor known him.

He says that when you sin, it is because you have neither seen nor known Him,

and you acted anyway. This is the Way.

John 5:19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, Most assuredly, I say to you,

the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do;

for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner

Paul speaks of this as he wraps up his lesson in Romans 14:

Romans 14:

22 Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not

condemn himself in what he approves.

23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith;

for whatever is not from faith is sin.

If we are justified by faith, then our very words and actions

can only be justified when made in faith..."without doubting".

Matthew 21:21 So Jesus answered and said to them,

Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt...

Matthew 12:

36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak,

they will give account of it in the day of judgment.

37 For by your words you will be justified, and by your

words you will be condemned.

True. What some witness, which occasionally surfaces in the news, is horrendous.

And it's not near as bad as what the early church experienced.

They witnessed their fellow believers being fed to the lions and being stoned and crucified.

We got it easy in these modern time... most die by gun shots which kill people fairly quickly.

It all depends on the tone of your typing  :D

If you were typing with a good attitude, then your quote can be considered valid.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
