1 John 2:3 (NASB20)
By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.

     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Scripture puts forth this by this as a touch stone that one can measure one’s knowing of Him; does one keep His commandments…?
Seeing how all His commandments are instructions in, to, and towards righteousness, therefore to the degree one does righteousness to that degree can one know one knows Him…. For knowing Him is the all of everything in the time one has in this world, if one does not know Him all is lost that was meant to be gained…. For Jesus did die and one with Him, to the degree one enters into this truth, to that degree will one discover oneself not doing a righteousness that comes by and through oneself, but doing a righteousness that comes by and through faith in Christ Jesus….
For one keeping His commandments is a Divine act which only Christ’s life in one can accomplish… Faith in this life actually living in and through one, is the faith that will see the reality of this truth….
Oh to the knowing of Him, may His people do an increasing of righteousness so all might know  an increasing of Him…. For blessings are to be discovered, to the degree one knows Him…..
Unto Him be our all, Not me
John 3:21 But he who does the truth comes to the light,
that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.
How do we come to the light, and walk in the light?
1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light,
we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
This is the place where we work righteousness, bear fruit, and know
that we keep His commandments.
1 Peter 1:22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth
through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren,
love one another fervently with a pure heart.
While I freely admit that I have struggled to love many in fellowship,
the ones whom I immediately fell in love with were those who
shared in the love of truth, found in the doctrines of Christ.
1 John 3:23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on
the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another,
as He gave us commandment.
1 John 4:12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another,
God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.
How can someone love God, and not love His Word, His Son, and
His children who walk in truth?
Starts off with "by this" "And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. By this" John used the word ginosko twice in order to describe ones knowledge of God as a person.  As John had said few times "we know Him" a personal relationship. As one said can be tested by looking for the consistent obedience of Gods (not what some believer tells us) commands.
Thanks for your thoughts, as we all are blessed by the experiencing of this ‘by this’….
I have to agree that we express our love for our Father by loving one another.
But I test my own heart by my willingness to obey the speed limit, or being in obedience to civil authorities.  Do I try to obey exactly?  Do I become prideful for my obedience while all those no good speeders whizz past me?  Do I drive 5 over the limit or the amount I think I can get away with?  My heart can be so deceitful and wicked!
Scripture says ‘let the peace of Christ rule in the heart’ in other words, if something upsets that peace, do something else…. As we listen to that peace does our peace increase…..
Be blessed in being inwardly directed, a fellow believer, Not me
