Can we discuss this scripture?..so far no one wanted to discuss the last long scripture that I posted?..maybe I’m being impatient.

Galatians 5:16-26

New King James Version

Walking in the Spirit

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

My words...when we become Born Again of the Spirit, we aren’t under the law we are under grace.

Therefore we learn via the Holy Spirit to walk in the Spirit ....remember we have just been brought into God’s Kingdom as a new babe, we have been Born Again of imperishable seed, we are the adopted children of God, only the Holy Spirit can bring our will in line with the will of God....which is called the sanctification process, whereby through the power of the Spirit,( notice I say the power of the Spirit...there is no power in us, we are at the mercy of Gods Holy Spirit) we are being made more and more into the image of Jesus....then we have the renewing of our minds...that is the part i struggle with at times, my old mind set doesn’t want to die, but, as we grow and mature in Christ, it gets less and less...

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: [a]adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, [c]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told youin time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [d]gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Jesus knowing that the day will come when Nicodemus will hear the Gospel from the disciples after his death on the Cross (Jesus foretold to Nicodemus that he will see him dead on the Cross) from the preaching of the disciples Nicodemus believed that Jesus was the promised Messiah and that he died for the forgiveness of our sins and then he would have remembered the words of Jesus who had told him that when you seem me lifted up in the same way Moses lifted up the Serpent in the dessert and believe then you will be born from above from God. Jesus foretold to him that will happen in the way he described it when he said just like the wind which means when someone believes in Jesus Christ that he died for his sins and is the Slain Lamb of God then he is born from above just like that without having any special ceremony or any ritual and without the help of the Priests.  Jesus said to Nicodemus who was in the family of God because of Abraham and his obedience to the Law that God will have a New family and that if he wants to be in the new family of God he will have to believe in him after his death on the Cross for the forgiveness of his sins. Nicodemus needed to be born from the old Testament family of God to the new testament family of God the family born from the Spirit of God from above by faith alone in Jesus Christ.

Off topic.   But just explaining "OSAS"....it means eternal security (once saved, always saved).   That we cannot lose our salvation.

 1 John 1:8
New International Version
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

New Living Translation
If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.

English Standard Version
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Berean Standard Bible
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

 1 John 3:9
New International Version
No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God.

New Living Translation
Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.

English Standard Version
No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.

Berean Standard Bible
Anyone born of God refuses to practice sin, because God’s seed abides in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

Berean Literal Bible
Anyone having been born of God does not practice sin, because His seed abides in him, and he is not able to continue sinning, because he has been born of God

This imo is misunderstood by many, of course we deceive ourselves if we claim to be without sin..we were all sinners, that was until we became Born Again of imperishable seed.
For God word says, a Born Again does not carry on sinning because they have been Born Again of imperishable seed...the Spirit of God can’t in dwell the heart/ spirit of a sinner.

Therefore we have that new heart/ Spirit within, ..,,it’s the old man/ mindset, our old in the world thinking, we were programmed by the world and our experiences in life, there are so many contributing factors to why we thought the way we thought.

Te renewing of our mind starts as soon as we become Born of the Spirit, of course this must be learnt and understood via the Spirit.
i was shown by God yesterday, that I was reacting in my old mindset ..rather than acting in my new mind ,which is of Christ...Christ thinking not LisaLola thinking....every time a negative ungodly thought comes into my mind, we are to take it captive....just my thoughts..Love you all in the name of Jesus.

Would you all agree that we are unable to grow in Gods Love, if we still want to hold on to our old mindset?

i believe God has set me free this morning from my old mindset and I know I will be tested,,,if that truth of God’s word has penetrated deep into my heart/ spirit....the enemy will NEVER be able to get me to act out in the old mindset again?

Does anyone agree with this?

What say you @Starise?

or should that be “ Chewbacca” hehehe, lol, xoxo

I was not Born Again by reading my Bible,

I will repeat;  the ONLY WAY to be born again is to put your full trust in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross for your sins.  Period.

That is made very clear in the account of Cornelius, from Acts 10 and 11.  Peter clearly equated receiving the Spriit (baptized) with believing the gospel.

I hope you'll read it.

I was using Born Again exactly how Jesus brought me to understand it...I was Born Again exactly how Jesus explains to Nicodemus

Actually, not.  Jesus used the words as a verb.  iow, "to be born again".

I'll use that in a sentence.  In order to enter the kingdom, one must be born again.  So Jesus was telling Nic HOW to enter the kingdom.

The letters stand for "once saved, always saved".  Is that phrase familiar to you?

Those exact words are not found in the Bible, but Jesus very clearly taught that every believer is eternally secure from the MOMENT of faith in Him.

Would you like to see the verses?

Partly agree.  Yes, the Bible is clear about changing our fleshly mindset to a spiritual mindset, and apart from doing that, there can be no spiritual growth at all.

However, this is a moment by moment challenge.  We aren't permanently set free from returning to our fleshly mindset.  Paul made that clear in 1 Cor 3 when he called the Corinthian believers fleshly or carnal.  He confirmed their salvation throughout his first epistle to them yet he called them carnal.

And Satan (the enemy) is always "prowling around seeking someone to devour", per 1 Pet 6:8.  He doesn't need to devour unbelievers because he simply blinds them to the truth.  So this verse is a warning to believers, or as you would say, to born agains.

Hello FreeGrace..no it’s not..i can only go by my becoming Born Again of the Spirit.

The only way I believe when one  is truly saved from eternal damnation, is when they have become Born Again of imperishable seed...nothing else makes sense to me.

im not saying you are wrong, I just don’t understand being saved that way.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
