Paganism and Humanism particularly.

What about powers?

Hedonism and Occult.

What about the rulers of the darkness of this world?

Tyrants and Despots.

What about spiritual wickedness in high places?

Idolatry and Harlotry.

Eph 6:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

             Adversaries? What About These?

 

Well, we need to be;  strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Putting on our full armor of God as good soldiers in the army of God,
so that we can take our stand against the devil’s schemes.

And putting on,

"the belt of truth, (God's light/truth)
the breastplate of righteousness, (doing the right thing)

feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (sharing the good news)
the shield of faith, to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  (faith to stop the fiery darts/doubts/lies/deceptions)

 the helmet of salvation, (covered with the blood)
the sword of the Spirit,  the word of God (-truth/life)
 

praying at all times in the Spirit
prayer and supplication.
keeping alert with all perseverance,
making supplication for all the saints"
Ephesians 6

Taking our stand...as faithful soldiers.....and love to our brothers/sisters in arms, encouraging one another daily....

Ok.. now were talking well most of the time its never about Spiritual Warfare/Spiritual gifts. love to dive no offense but I know where I am posting. 

I remember visiting this elderly man. The short is I was reading the word and told the lord "you gave me this burden for him so I have  a right to know why he is not being healed". Knowing where I am again.... do we understand what I just asked the lord? The elderly man could not move just moan and oh oh he just loved to hear the word of God. The lord said "Remember when Daniel prayed". I said "ok if this is you where is that written?" Yeah I had no clue never read .. sad but I don't think at that time I had ever read any of the OT,  NT many times. He said "Daniel 10 9-12".  

This has to do what your talking about Michael because He said Satan has put up a hedge around him. His words and He said "a simple prayer will do nothing".  Believe it or not this is not a easy story to tell. Well I use to always leave out the next part that is... after the lord said that I did nothing. I didn't go into prayer and stay there fighting as were told to do always. Seen my Father through what Christ did and all the power and authority given us, so many wonders. I don't  feel condemned but anyway. 

So we have to be really prepared or you will get stomped on. I never give names.... I know my family lol. I remember this preacher that was a prophet yet didn't like being called that. He was talking about this very thing and according to him spiritual wickedness in high places was not where we do battle.. maybe I should say our authority does not go that high. He had a great point and backed it up with scripture. We have all power and authority over the enemy up to the 1st heaven. It is written beyond as in 2nd 3rd heavens that is GOD's. He had a dream it was like us tossing axes at the moon yeah.. that does nothing.

In the OT in Daniel who was doing the fighting up there?  There was much more yet he is gone home now.  I like to hear all sides not sure I agree fully with him but.. it does make one think. Not something I would ever ever ever play with. If I am not prayed up and I mean prayed up living right.. the enemy will come in hard and fast.  

I should just delete all this and just ask what do you believe? A man of God told the story how he was on the couch woke up and two demons at the door. One was huge strong the other small and looked scared. He said no matter what he said they didn't move. He was a tad scared. He hears this huge rush of wind and a hand placed on his shoulder. Lol he said "I didn't know if it was Christ or some angel and I didn't care". He said this power and boldness just came over him and he then told the two leave or you can sleep on the couch..something like that. He said the moment they knew he knew within himself the power and authority he had.. they left. 

There is this other man of God and yes gone home also.  But what they did all over the world was praying around the city. No they would do this walk every block around those cities. He did it in Israel you name it and man do they have some wonderful awesome stories how GOD moved and protected them. So one has to be prayed up.. living this day in day out and has to believe. The enemy does not play games they are doing this 24/7 never ever sleeping. Us? We tend to walk by feelings and what we see.  Faith.. Peter and John said it why look at us as if we did this by our own power. That name faith in that name healed this man.

Firstly, as background to this thread, I've long been intrigued by the way Paul uses lists in his writings, and I believe the Holy Spirit guided him to put things in lists.

Secondly, in my literary studies I have learned that when a word or phrase or concept is repeated in a composition it is to give emphasis and invoke closer attention.

The word "against" is used five times in this sentence.

Eph 6:12  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Thirdly, I know from experience that we struggle against these forms and types of adversary both individually, and collectively as families, communities, societies, and nations, and as the body of Christ on earth.

The main theme of the Bible is conflict, how it began, how it continues, and how it is resolved through Christ.
