Is slavery condemned in the bible?

Paul and the other apostles were tasked with preaching the gospel, not reforming the world.

Chattel slavery was an economic fact of life in the Roman empire.

As has been made clear the bible p.aced limitations on how chattel slaves could be treated and on how indentured slaves could be treated.

There was no social services in the ancient world, if ones farm or business failed  the cho5 was stark. Starve or become an indentured servant.

That Christianity would change the Roman empire and the world is a result of the commands to love people practically. 

So yes the bible does not outrightly  condemn slavery.

But then no other world view either Co demns slavery or seeks to place moral/legal limits upon slavery.

Challenge  any one who attacks slavery or any apparent  I justice in the bible, as to where they get there morality from.

 How is it love to use someone as a slave? Then you love yourself and your own ease at the expense of someone else. If you love these people you go serve them, not order them to serve you. Always amazes me too when someone thinks it's normal to lazy around and let their partner work so hard that they get a heart attack. How? Do you hate em or something?

If we ourselves are okay with being slaves in our hearts then slavery is okay. 
 

If we ourselves do not want to be a slave then it is not okay to enslave another.

God preferred a man to have one wife but should the man take on more God also gave rules for this.

I think it’s rare to find people who truly love their neighbors. People don’t look at others as themselves but an outside person who is separate from themselves. 

God told the Israelites they would be punished like no others had. He said he’d make a good example out of them. 

”“The Lord will let your enemies defeat you. You will go to fight against your enemies one way, but you will run away from them seven different ways. The bad things that happen to you will make all the people on earth afraid.
 

“You will be engaged to a woman, but another man will have sexual relations with her. You will build a house, but you will not live in it. You will plant a vineyard, but you will not gather anything from it. “Other people will be allowed to take your sons and your daughters. Day after day you will look for your children. You will look for them until your eyes become weak and blind—but you will not find them. And God will not help you.

“A nation that you don’t know will take all your crops and everything you worked for. People will treat you badly and abuse you. The things you see will make you go crazy.

“The Lord will send you and your king away to a nation you don’t know. You and your ancestors have never seen that nation. There you will serve false gods made of wood and stone. This punishment looks familiar to me.

In your world view you think slavery and love can not coexist, but that is not how God viewed it.  Read the following:

For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land. [And] if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee. And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty: Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: [of that] wherewith the LORD thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him. And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day. Yes but I wouldn't nowadays call that a slave. The other O.T. texts don't sound so great or for instance David who took a bunch as wives, that's not for after Jesus came. Sounds more like it was permitted then.
