This and the other post is where I mostly diverge from most people. firstly, thee is no evidence this man is a world wide ruler, too long to explain in this summation, but might do later if needed (trying to stay on the track, I get off tracked easy, lol) 

I do not think its a Middle East crises per se, its more of a E.U. vs. Russia conflict and Israel gets dragged in. So, when we see in Ezekiel God puts "HOOKS" in his mouth (Gog.........Putin imho) I think that is what Ukraine is about, notice just yesterday NATO is talking about sending troops into Ukraine, why? Ukrainians are tired of their boys dying in this proxy war. Satan knows what he is doing, and he wants his E.U. man to become the strong man, he also knows God will protect Israel at all cost, and he can read scriptures, so in order to make his E.U. mans path clear, he entices Russia, Iran and Turkey to invade Israel, and he knows that 5/6 of their armies will be wiped out, now his E.U. man will become the de facto big  boss in the whole region. Satan is very intelligent. 

So, does the A.C. (E.U. President) sign a Peace Treaty with Israel and the Arab nations around them? No, not like many think, the Abraham Accords proves Israel are now at peace with her immediate neighbors who are THE MANY that will also get attacked by this A.C. figure. The E.U. currently has agreements with Israel that have always run in 7 year cycles, but the E.U. also has agreements with every nation on the Mediterranean Coastline from Lebanon to Tunisia. And the stated goal is to maybe one day bring some of these nation/states into the European Union !! These Agreements are called the European Neighborhood Policy. 

So, how will this play out? Its not some person Israel sees as their Messiah, and its not someone who brokers a peace between Israel and her Muslim nations, Iran has already caused that via the Abraham Accords. It will play out like this, after Gog and Magog, Israel will be invited to join the E.U. That is the simple answer to what we humans have made into a multi complex situation by our own bad imaginings over the years, in other words we were guessing before, now in these end times, with all this info, we can decipher it all through prayer and hard study.

When we see the Gog war we know the Rapture is near, but why? Because I believe everything hinges on Israel joining the E.U. once that happens its all set into motion, the ONE RAPTURE, and the 70th week is kicked off by God's anger, how dare Israel give His land away !! You see, Israel joining the E.U. is much much simpler than all the other things we have imagined.

The Rapture happens when Israel joins the E.U. that is the Agreement. The MANY are every other nation in the region. Dan. 11:40-43 tells the tale.

He conquers "nations" to get a Israel (Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan) then he conquers all of North Africa, but he doesn't conquer Edom, Ammon & Moab. That just so happens to be where the Petra/Bozrah area is at. So, he conquers Israel and the whole region, just like the  other 6 Beasts did not only conquer Israel. But nowhere in Dan. 11 can  we find any place in the whole world that he conquers, except for Israel and THE MANY. His landmass will look just like Rome circa the first century.

Now, knowing he not going to claim to be a fake christ messiah, the False Prophet will try to trick the Jews who flee to Petra we can understand he has no need to fake his death. Well, if it was a "treaty" that would be correct, or if Israel joins the E.U. and then when the E.U. and their president (A.C.) attacks Israel and the whole Mediterranean Sea Region, from Lebanon to Tunisia, that would just be more akin to lets say the United States attacking Hawaii or Alaska. They turn on one of their own states (nation state) because that is how the A.C. will get them to give up their nukes and catch them unawares. He doesn't just sign a PEACE DEAL or Treaty imho, he has yo get them to give up their nukes, that's what burning their weapons for 7 years means. The number 7 means Divine Completion, not 7 years per se. I also think its the False Prophet that sets up the AoD image of the first Beast i the temple, Rev. 13 says just that. The 1290 happens 30 days before the A.C. conquers Israel to HEAL THE WOUND, and becomes a Beast again, the 7th Head of the dormant Beast who arises from the [Mediterranean] sea.

Thanks for that thoughtful reply @Revelation Man!  We agree on various and disagree on others - which is par for this course. (I probably don't even agree fully on such matters with the folks I meet with regularly - LOL)

One area I believe I'm in the minority on is the identity of the manchild in Rev 12.  The popular view is that he is Jesus, and I admit that would  seem to be the case, at least looking superficially.  However, to me there are a number of things that don't line up well with that view when looking at that same chapter.  

If Jesus is the manchild, then why:

1. Does it say the woman flees into the wilderness for 1,260 days (3.5 years: great tribulation), when Mary never did this?

2. Does it say in verse 11 that "THEY overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of THEIR testimony and THEY loved not THEIR lives unto death"?  The ones that overcame the devil are plural here.

To me, what fits here is that yes, actually the manchild is Christ, but it is Christ IN His believers!  This is the full manifestation of the new covenant way - Christ in you, the hope of glory. And if you compare verse 5, "And he will rule the nations with an iron scepter" with what He promises overcoming believers in Rev 2:27, it is the same.  Therefore, what I see is this --> believers who are fully given to Christ - so that Christ is being fully manifested through them - are the overcoming manchild.

As per Rev. 12, everything after Rev. 4:1 is indeed the "Hereafter" but the hereafter portion of the passage is in verses 6-17, verses 1-5 is God encoding the players. He did this for a reason. If John had written Israel was going to rule with Jesus in 90ish AD an the churches had been found with those letters, they would have been charged with treason to Rome and killed. That is also why its Babylon being judged instead of the whole world (Rome deemed themselves as rulers of the world). So, the Romans would laugh, saying these kooks think Babylon is still a city, and is going to be judged. Also, when they saw Red Dragon (Satan) , a Male child (Jesus), and a Woman with a Sun, Moon and 12 Stars at her feet (Israel......................see Gen. 37:9 its Jacob(the Sun), Rachel (the Moon) and Josephs 11 brothers(stars) he had a dream about. So, they had no clue, but the church knew these old testament passages and understood the code. Only after applying the code does the Prophecy make sense.

Revelation 12 explained in full because even the Remnant is misunderstood

Rev. 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: (Israel who birthed the Messiah Jesus as vs. 2 shows) 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads(This represents Satan, he has the Crowns on the Head here showing him to be over all the kingdoms in the world, including these 7 over Israel).

4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth(Satan's fall): and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born(King Herod tried to have baby Jesus killed via Satan's whispers unto him, "He's taking your place).

5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne(Jesus now sits at the Right Hand of the Father).

Only now does the 70th week prophecy begin, John merely set the story up with a code so the story could be told without Rome stepping in and taking these letters away and maybe killing the church members. Its pretty basic stuff, Israel birthed the Messiah (not Mary per se in this description), Satan tried to kill the baby before he grew up, but he the make child Jesus grew up, became our Sacrifice and now has ascended unto the Fathers right hand. Only now does the 70th week prophecy begin.

6 And the woman fled into the wilderness(Israel flees at the 1290, just before getting conquered at the 1260), where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels(Satan is cast down to earth at the midway point, that's why he chases Israel for exactly 1260 days, Daniel 12:1-2 agrees, Micheal stands up at this point in time to protect Israel.) 

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out(at the 1260), that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him(This is different from when he was cast out of the 3rd Heaven, into the Universe, now he's cast out of the heavens or 2nd heaven down to earth, he now has no more access to the throne room either, where he accuses us night and day)

10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down(Amen, we get VICTORY), which accused them before our God day and night.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death(This is in reference to all of the church age saints in general, as a whole we overcame him via Jesus' blood and our faithfulness unto death, that is also how we overcame Rome).

12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time(1260 days). 13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman(Israel) which brought forth the man child(Jesus).

14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle(God Himself is seen as an Eagle in scriptures many times), that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place(Petra/Bozrah area), where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent(1260 days).

15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman(He sends the Anti-Christ's Army to kill the 1/3 Israel who repented), that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth(Just like in Egypt, God used THE EARTH itself to protect Israel, a Wall of Fire and He parted the Red Sea also).

17 And the dragon was wroth(Angry) with the woman(Israel), and went to make war with the remnant(70th week REMNANT Gentile Church) of her seed(Israel's ONE SEED is Jesus read Gal. 3:16), which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ

{{{ This "Remnant" can not be the 1/3 because Satan could not get at her, so he TURNS to go after the "Remnant of her Seed who is Jesus", it also can not be the 2/3 Jews who refuse to repent because they do not have the "Testimony of Jesus" so this Remnant tells the whole story, its the Remnant Gentile Church, on earth while the Church is in heaven. }}}

Sometimes we are alone on the totem pole and are wrong, sometimes we are right. I try to hash it all out via putting the puzzles together. Too many people are guessing after 5 pieces of a 10,000 piece puzzle, I like to fill in the puzzle piece by piece, that gives a better picture unto us. Once you get so many pieces things start clearing up, and towards the end becomes obvious.

         End times events:

2 Thessalonians 1:7-10... To give relief to you who are afflicted, to us as well, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in blazing fire. There He will punish those who refuse to acknowledge God and will not obey the gospel. They will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction, cut off from the Presence of the Lord when He comes to reveal His glory amongst all believers.

This is a controversial passage, because depending on how you look at the end times, you can read it as one event- that is the judgement of the nations/wicked peoples and the Lord’s Return, simultaneously or as two separate events, perhaps years apart.

Careful analysis of this Bible passage and parallel scriptures shows that in fact the judgement ‘in blazing fire’ does occur first and His enemies ‘suffer the penalty of eternal destruction’.

At the same time, the Lord comes to reveal His glory’ to His own people.  As we see in Revelation 14:1 and Isaiah 24:23

 

Here are Scriptures that describe the glorious second coming of the Lord Jesus, when all the world will see Him, that will come after all the rest of the prophesies for the last days:

Zechariah 14:2-5 I shall gather the nations to make war on Jerusalem; the city will be taken....Then the Lord will go out and fight them....On that Day, His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives. Then the Lord will appear, attended by all His holy ones.

Matthew 24:30 Then will appear in heaven the sign that heralds the Son of Man... they will see Him coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Revelation 19:11-21 I saw heaven wide open and a white horse appeared, its Rider’s name was Faithful and True.....He was robed in a garment dyed in blood....He will rule the nations with a rod of iron and carry out the wrath of God..... against the Beast and the kings of the earth with their armies mustered to do battle..... the rest are killed by the sword which came out of the Rider’s mouth.

Jesus returns in power and glory, visible to all when He destroys the armies attacking Jerusalem. This happens at the end of the Tribulation period and is the commencement of His Millennial reign. Note that He appears ‘robed in a garment dyed in blood’. This means that He has carried out a judgement before His Return in glory.

Isaiah 63:3-4 I have trodden the press alone, I trod the nations in My anger, their blood spattered My garments. I resolved on a Day of vengeance, the Year for redeeming My own had come. Rev. 14:17-20

 

More prophesies on the event called the “Day of vengeance” or “the Day of God’s wrath”:

2 Samuel 22:8-16 and Psalms 18:7-15 He parted the heavens and came down. The earth shook and quaked because of His anger. Smoke and devouring fire came from Him. He swooped on the wind, covered by darkness and dense vapour. Thick clouds went before Him, with thunder, hail and glowing coals. He loosed His arrows far and wide and hurled lightning bolts round His enemies.

Habakkuk 3:12 Furiously You traverse the earth, in anger You trample down the nations.

Isaiah 66:15-16 See, the Lord is coming in fire, like a whirlwind, bringing retribution in His furious anger. The Lord will judge with fire and many will be slain by Him.

Hebrews 10:27...a terrifying expectation of judgement – a fierce fire that will consume God’s enemies.     Reference: REB some verses condensed.

Although, at the Lord’s Return, there will be a judgement – of the Anti Christ and his armies, this isn’t the same as the worldwide event described above, to happen earlier.

This terrible, devastating worldwide disaster, will be triggered by an attack by an Islamic confederation on the State of Israel. It will change the world and a One World Government will be formed, but the Lord’s faithful righteous people will gather and live in all of the Holy Land.
